9-121 What is observed as being separated from the habits of the mind is said to be phenomena appearing externally. Since many accomplished ones, such as Yeshe Zhab, have established appearance as mind, it is not necessary to establish the views of all the treatises of accomplished ones, as well as the Guhyasamāja, Kālacakra, etc., as Prasangika. The view of secret mantra also depends on the beings to be tamed, and there are Madhyamaka and Cittamatra as appropriate. Whether it is Madhyamaka or Cittamatra, there is no certainty that one must follow the treatises of Nagarjuna and Asanga, because thinking that the treatises of the Mahayana are pervaded by the treatises of Nagarjuna and Asanga is like thinking that the people of East and West are pervaded by the people of East and West of India. Second, the two roots are emptiness and compassion. First, there are eighteen kinds of emptiness and three doors of liberation. First, the eighteen kinds of object emptiness are: inner and outer and emptiness, great, ultimate, conditioned and, unconditioned and transcendence of extremes, without beginning or end and without abandonment and, self-nature, all phenomena's own characteristics and, unobservable, non-existent essence and, existent, non-existent emptiness. The basis of their emptiness in order are: the six internal sense bases and, the six external sense bases and, form etc. related to the body of sentient beings and, the wisdom that realizes emptiness and, the container world and, self-nature nirvana and, things that arise from causes and conditions and, unconditioned phenomena that are free from arising and ceasing and, the extremes of samsara and nirvana, permanence and annihilation, existence and non-existence and, the beginningless and endless of samsara in general and, the Dharma of scripture and realization and, the inherent nature lineage and, all the phenomena from form to omniscience and, the characteristics of all phenomena and, not observing the future in the past, etc., the three times not observing each other and, all phenomena not having true entities, only the nature of dependent origination and, the five aggregates having the ability to function and, the emptiness of space etc. having the ability to function, these are empty of their own nature, and there is no absence of two selves, these are the eighteen emptinesses, on top of which adding the two emptinesses of one's own nature and the nature of others, there are twenty, the way of emptiness is as explained above in the case of the two selflessnesses. Second is

The three liberations with characteristics are: From the perspective of meditating by focusing on the four seals of Dharma, there are three liberations, namely: Taking all phenomena as empty and selfless as the object, the door of liberation, emptiness, is: the wisdom and samadhi combined, realizing that all phenomena are empty of the two selves. Taking Nirvana as peace as the object, the door of liberation, signlessness, is: as an antidote to the attachment to various things such as joy and sorrow, happiness and suffering, prosperity and decline, based on self-grasping, meditating by knowing that signs such as joy and sorrow are selfless. Taking conditioned things as impermanent and contaminated as suffering, wishlessness is: as an antidote to grasping the five aggregates of inner and outer as pure, permanent, and happy, although there is no self-nature, one meditates on impurity, impermanence, suffering, etc. in conventional truth. Liberation is the name of being freed from what is to be abandoned, and it is called a door because it is the entrance to its method. Secondly, compassion also has three aspects: Having compassion for sentient beings suffering in samsara due to afflictions is focusing on sentient beings; having compassion for sentient beings who are not liberated from impermanence from moment to moment and have no essence is focusing on Dharma; seeing that sentient beings have no self-nature but not understanding it and having compassion, and compassion itself also 9-123 Seeing its essence as empty is compassion without an object, and the nature of compassion is the desire to completely eliminate suffering and its causes. These two are the root of Bodhi, as it is said in the Garland of Precious Gems: If you want to attain unsurpassed Bodhi, its root is Bodhicitta, as stable as the King of Mountains, and compassion that pervades everything, and wisdom that does not rely on the two. Thus, Bodhicitta, compassion, and the wisdom that realizes emptiness are said to be the three roots, and the first of these can also be preached and explained. Third, the four immeasurables are: loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. Loving-kindness is: wishing that limitless happiness will arise constantly for limitless sentient beings, like being in samadhi, and meditating with mindfulness and concentration. Compassion is: wishing that there will be no aspect of suffering at all in the same object of focus, and
