For example, for a single drop of water, beings of the five realms perceive various different appearances, therefore external objects do not exist, it is only mind. In reality, the appearing phenomena are illusions caused by the imprints left on the alaya consciousness. As stated in the Lankavatara Sutra: "The mind is disturbed by imprints, various appearances arise, they are not truly existent, it is only mind, seeing external objects is a mistake." Furthermore, if external objects were truly existent as they appear, then it would follow that all beings would be able to see the true nature of things, which would lead to the liberation of all beings. Moreover, the grasper and the grasped are not established, if they are connected as one entity, then their essence would become one, therefore it is unreasonable for both grasper and grasped to exist simultaneously in one thing. They are also not produced from each other, because they appear simultaneously, like the left and right horns, there is no connection. In reality, the connection itself is not established, therefore how can the object and subject be established? For things that have a sequential order, the object and its apprehension are impossible, because when one exists, the other does not. Furthermore, even without an object, it appears, like in a dream. If there is no immediate cause, then even if there is an object, it will not appear, therefore it can be determined that it is only mind, thus establishing that the grasper and the grasped are non-dual. Then, does the grasping mind exist in essence? Like the various shapes that appear, such as blue, yellow, long, short, etc., it is unattainable. Just as the object has directional distinctions, so does it, for example, the consciousness of seeing a lotus also includes seeing the petals, the stamen, the nectar, etc., it is merely a collection of many different entities. Moreover, it does not abide in any of the three places: inside, outside, or in between. The essence is also not singular, because mind and mental factors can be divided into many kinds. The various appearances of the five objects are destroyed in an instant. Even the mind of a kalpa, if broken down into individual moments, not a single one can be found. If a single moment does not have the three parts of arising, abiding, and ceasing, then it will become a non-thing. If it exists, then it will also become multiple parts. If its arising part, etc., are analyzed endlessly, then it will become timeless. However, the three parts of arising, ceasing, and abiding occur simultaneously. If a moment does not have the two ends of before and after, then a kalpa will also become a moment. Because all moments merge into one another, they will occur simultaneously. Therefore, the inner grasping mind...

I am not established, and the nature of emptiness of the two is also without essence, that is, if the duality of grasper and grasped is not established, then the nature of emptiness of the two is also not established, just as Mosham has no son, so there is no trace of his death. Furthermore, all these dharmas are established by dependence, that is, cause and effect, place and place-holder, knowledge and knowable, real and unreal, good and bad, self and other, what should be abandoned and what should be adopted, edge and center, yes and no, existence and non-existence, ultimate truth and conventional truth, etc., all dharmas are mutually 9-120 dependent, so there is no self-established one, because conventional truth is delusion, so it appears even though it is not. Briefly speaking, when entering the ultimate truth, one accepts selflessness and posits it, but in the ultimate truth, there is definitely no selflessness, if there is no self to be negated, then its absence is also not established, as the Two Truths states: "The negation of birth and so on is also in accordance with reality, because what is to be negated is non-existent, in reality there is clear non-negation." As it is said, cutting off all negation and affirmation, there is no unspeakable that can be said, cutting off all acceptance, this is the reality of things, so one abides in this equanimity. The essence of these is: focusing on the selflessness of the person, focusing on selflessness is the yoga ground, as it is said. Meditating on the cessation of grasping, focusing on mind-only or focusing on non-grasping, the yoga mind establishes illusion, focusing on suchness is the yoga ground. Meditating in the unspeakable, focusing on the absence of appearance is the reason for the yoga ground. As it is said, the Lankavatara Sutra says: "One should well abide in mind-only, not discriminating external objects. From the object of suchness, one should also transcend mind-only. After transcending mind-only, one should also transcend from the absence of appearance." Thus, understand its meaning. This path is very excellent, as the Vajra Tent says: "What comes out from the precious mind, there is no Buddha and no sentient being. The meaning of abiding and the consciousnesses, what comes out from the external realm is also slightly non-existent." It also says: "Form and sound and likewise smell, taste and tangible objects that arise, in this precious mind are all of the nature of speech." Also, the Guhyasamaja says: "One's own minds are the object, all dharmas well abide in the object. This mind abiding in space vajra, there is no dharma and no nature of dharma."
