Among the four practices, the first is from the three chapters of the explanatory tantra of Yama, the Lord of Death: "The city of Ali Kali is the root from which mantras arise." These are Ali Kali, etc. The second is: From the vowels, the letter A and the letter U. From the consonants, the letter Ma without life. From the combination of three letters comes ༀ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: , Romanized Sanskrit: , Literal meaning: Om). "The letter A and the letter U become O, which also means the other shore." This means that A and U combine to become O. The letter Ma without life, followed by the anusvara, becomes a dot placed above, resulting in ༀ་. Similarly, two letters A and the letter Ha without life are placed, and the similar letter becomes long, also distinguishing the other shore. Thus, two short A's become one long sound, and the letter Ha without life becomes a separator. The separator letter Ha appears, although it does not appear in the existing Tibetan grammar treatises, but it seems to exist in other treatises, and in the oral tradition of the Indians, the separator only has the sound of Ha. The letter Ha without life, and U and the letter Ma without life, etc., guide from consonant vowels to the letters of the other shore. Thus, Ha and U combine to become the letter Hu, and Ma followed by the anusvara becomes Hum. Combining these together is the basis for collecting mantras. Ali Kali is the wind in the channels residing in the sound of Ali Kali, and the method of collecting these is also explained in detail in the Vajra Garland. Summarizing its essence, the tantra itself says: "A resides in the Dharma wheel lotus, pervading the wind wheel. This alone is the great wind, collecting all that is called life." This refers to the sound of the life-sustaining wind arising from the short A in the heart. U resides in the enjoyment wheel, like fire and the sun, from the edge of the throat to the crown of the head, pervading the body of splendor. The upward-moving wind travels from the throat to the crown of the head with the sound of the letter U, residing in what is called the Great Bliss Wheel. The letter Ma is just a bindu, the size of a thumb is twelve fingers, the king resides in the topknot, the position measured twelve fingers outward from the eyebrows. The bodhicitta bindu resides in the center of the topknot wheel. The wind in the heart has the sound of A, and the wind in the throat has the sound of U.

When mixed, it becomes the sound of โอ. The air of the bindu of the crown chakra reaches the heart center, transforming into 唵 (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: o, Chinese literal meaning: Om), this is how it is when the breath enters. The throat emits the sound of อุ, which does not contradict the common belief that the letter in the throat is โอ, because the merit of the โอ letter plus the โอ letter is the reason for the อฃ letter. Therefore, in some examples of the Vajra Garland, it is said: โอ resides in the enjoyment wheel. Saying this is not incorrect. The letter อะ has been mentioned before. The life force is the most supreme. Like this, the air of the heart is the อะ letter as mentioned before, อะ is in the Dharma wheel lotus, two อะ letters change in the throat. The life effort itself and the downward clearing, the letter ฮะ from all aspects, is bound in the center of the throat. It is said that the air above the throat reaches the heart and abides, connected to the short อะ of the heart, becoming the sound of อะ, mixed with the sound of the life-sustaining air อะ that is fundamentally abiding, becoming the long sound อཱ. There, the component of the downward clearing air abides, because there is the sound of the ฮะ letter, so it becomes an accented sound, becoming the sound of อཱཿ, this is when the breath abides. Again, ฮะ is the name of the downward clearing air, abiding in the center of the secret of the anus. The letter อุ is the upward moving air, abiding in the center of the lotus of the throat. The letter มะ is the life air, on the wheel of air on the forehead. These merge in the heart, and are called the seed of the heart. It is said that the downward clearing air has the sound of ฮะ, spreading from the heart to the space between the eyebrows, the wheel of air. The life air transforms into the sound of มะ, the meaning of which is that the life-sustaining air mixes with the bindu of the crown chakra, transforming into the sound of the มะ letter, and its flow reaches between the eyebrows, and when the upward moving air also moves upwards, it moves with the long sound อูཱ. When these gather together, it is the letter ฮཱུཾ, when the downward clearing air mixes with the upward moving air in the throat, becoming the letter ฮཱུཾ reaching the crown chakra, it mixes with the sound of the life-sustaining air มะ letter, so it is ฮཱུཾ, when the breath goes [out]. This is what teacher 阿ลังกะกะละ舍 said, and now it is like what those who are proficient in the sacred circle say, the Vajra recitation of the Great Bliss Wheel is mostly when the breath enters.
