That is to say, generating fatigue, exhausting the body, and then, one's own mind does not truly abide in suchness, so it is again destroyed by afflictions and suffering. What is said above is that even if one obtains common fruits, because one has not been liberated from samsara, it is a continuation of suffering, and one obtains fatigue by expending great effort on small matters. This is the meaning of what is said above. If it is explained as ultimately not obtaining either, then it contradicts what was said earlier about the necessity of fabrication. Therefore, all the efforts on the limbs and parts of the activities of rituals such as the mandala of the generation stage, etc., are not guiding to obtain the Bodhi that liberates from all obstacles, so striving for hundreds and thousands of fabrications for the sake of the supreme Bodhi is merely futile. There are also some who combine mantras into images in this way, saying: There is no Bodhi and no meditation, those who possess the Vajra of body, speech, and mind, in short, if analyzed, the Samadhi of the imputed mantra, one should meditate on the union of Bodhi. As it is said in the tantras such as the Compendium Sutra, with discriminating wisdom, completely abandoning all characteristics of emptiness, abiding in the Dharmadhatu that is completely free from afflictions and discriminations, thinking that one can attain Buddhahood merely in this way, the sutra says: One does not attain Buddhahood from non-discrimination. This is practicing a semblance of emptiness, relying on the extreme of annihilation, and falling away from the accumulation of merit, so it is not the true path to attaining Buddhahood. Similarly, all those with discriminations, such as visualizing oneself as a deity in the sequence of the Moon Vajra, etc., cannot transform either, as it is said in the sutra: Whether it is virtuous or non-virtuous, any difference of discrimination, just like fire and burning, because there is no basis for difference, there is no difference. Just like that, whatever is a temporary fabricated meditation, it pervades not being the path to manifesting the primordial Buddha. Just like ordinary discrimination, virtuous discrimination is also fabricated and temporary. That is what was said above. To this, some people think that because it is not the direct cause of the Buddha, one should abandon it, and everything other than the uninterrupted path needs to be purified, and circumambulating stupas

Even just doing a little bit, if it can become a distant cause for unsurpassed Bodhi, then why can't these artificial practices become distant causes? Although I have thought about this a lot, I would not say that because it is not a direct cause for attaining Buddhahood, it must be abandoned. Nor would I say that it cannot become a method passed down from a long time ago, but these artificial paths are not indispensable causes for attaining Buddhahood, nor are they uncommon paths. That is what is said. If that is the case, then those yogis with conceptualization, and even those without conceptualization, 8-401 just emptiness alone, are not the correct path, thus blocking it. Those wise ones who fully understand the extremely pure stages and practice, will surely become Buddhas. Therefore, that stage is the correct path. As it is said: Only the extremely pure stage is taught by the Buddhas for the sake of liberation. Here, the extremely pure stage is the path of union. For this, many people think that combining the previous two paths of conceptualization and non-conceptualization is union, which is very unreasonable, because it will fall into two faults. Here, Mar Dol Lotsawa fully understands the union of the two truths, like this, when it appears as the nature of the desired deity, at that time, it is very clear to know that it is the nature of great bliss. This explanation seems to be the key point. In short, it is the union of the illusory body and clear light, or the union of emptiness with all the supreme aspects and unchanging bliss, or the union of the body and wisdom, or the inseparability of bliss and emptiness, the inseparability of emptiness and compassion, the inseparability of cause and effect, the path of the union of skillful means and wisdom, that is it. That is, the union of the mind's original, free from elaboration, bliss, and the clarity of that, symbolized by skillful means, and then identified and practiced, is the extremely pure stage. The fourth is: the action or nature exists, the actor is also nature, the objects of action and actor, abandon the objects of nature. Nature, that is, the uncreated path, for the extremely pure stage, is the ultimate
