The Heart Essence of the Ocean of Certainty and Secrecy: An Explanation of the Treatise 'The Sacred Drop of Spring' 8-381 ༄༅། །The Heart Essence of the Ocean of Certainty and Secrecy: An Explanation of the Treatise 'The Sacred Drop of Spring' ༄། །The Meaning of Entering the Treatise ༄༅། །The Heart Essence of the Ocean of Certainty and Secrecy: An Explanation of the Treatise 'The Sacred Drop of Spring' ༄༅། །Namo Vajra Dakaye. This is called 'The Heart Essence of the Ocean of Certainty and Secrecy: An Explanation of the Treatise 'The Sacred Drop of Spring'.' I prostrate to the Bhagavan, glorious Heruka! Heruka, the indestructible hero of spring, the one who gathers in the drop of supreme emptiness, the one who plays in the union of great bliss, I respectfully bow to the master, the protector of the wheel. The extremely profound and unsurpassed treatise, whatever was spoken from the glorious Vajragiti, the Drop of Spring, well-collected by Krishnacharya, I shall explain. My intellect is extremely dull, but still, in striving in this treatise, if there is some good speech, that is the power of the mantra [ancient] knowledge. Therefore, in explaining this treatise called 'The Sacred Drop of Spring' of the Bhagavan, there are three: the meaning of entering the treatise, the actual meaning of the treatise, and the meaning of the subsequent explanation. Among these, the first has three: praise, the vow to compose, and explaining the purpose. The first is: From the root tantra of the glorious Chakrasamvara: In the center of the assembly of heroes and yoginis, possessing union, all are delighted and become non-dual, they are the ones who give and gather. To sentient beings with many desires, they show various behaviors, in various ways, they tame those to be tamed, the means are shown in various ways. Wishing to show the meaning of what was said in detail, the praise is: Equal and unequal, the thirty-seven limbs of great bliss and great enlightenment, the four chief ones of the wheels of the channels of one's own body, the aggregates of phenomena abiding in their own nature. Adorned with the twelve vowels with the vowels prefixed, the mother of the meaning of the vowels, the thirty-four consonants, and the places where they abide with the distinctions of body, speech, and mind, etc. The lords of the ten bhumis, all travelers, from the center of one's own heart, the nature of space, the supreme peaceful Heruka, the glorious Victor, that very one.

Now, to that nature of Nirvana, like a drop of dew in the bright spring, the three bodies with blazing light, Well able to understand, accomplishing the benefit and happiness of self and others, the protector of beings who turns the wheel of Dharma, I respectfully prostrate. Thus, intending to praise the nature of all dharmas, the three bodies of ultimate truth. With equality and inequality, etc., it is the Dharmakaya; with one's own body's chakras, etc., it is the Sambhogakaya; with "like a drop of dew in the bright spring, blazing light" it is the Nirmanakaya; with "the three bodies are well understood, accomplishing the benefit of self and others, bestowing happiness" it clearly shows the activities. With "pervading all, all beings abide in the center of their own hearts" etc., it also shows the Svabhavikakaya, but it is combined with the Dharmakaya, so here it is said to be praising the three bodies. From the meaning of "the three bodies are well understood," it is clear that at this time of offering and praise, the nature of the fourth body is not elaborated upon. Among them, the nature of the Dharmakaya is great bliss, which enters equally into all knowable things in the manner of Dharma-nature. As it is said: "Having transcended the world, therefore in the world, there is no analogy for this, thus the nature and realm of the Tathagata are shown to be the same." Thus, the Dharmadhatu is not mixed with any other dharma, and because nothing can express it, it is also unequal. It has also entered and abides in the realm of ultimate truth, the direction or nature of great Bodhi. The thirty-seven dharmas, that is, the right samadhi, etc., which have become the nature of the Dharmakaya, are the thirty-seven limbs of enlightenment that distinguish the reversed qualities. This symbolizes the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the eighteen unshared dharmas, etc., abiding in the nature of the immeasurable aggregates of Buddha-dharmas. And showing that it is inseparable from the Svabhavikakaya is "pervading all, all beings abide in the center of their own hearts" etc. That great bliss, the nature of all qualities, also constantly pervades all knowable things in the manner of Dharma-nature, pervading all directions, times, and places without near or far, and is the characteristic of conditioned phenomena, newly arising.
