Its nature, and the nature of Samsara and Nirvana being inseparable, are established in the mandala. The first is divided into two sets, namely the two wisdoms, with and without objects. The one with an object is the breath of the Tathagata, which is Samsara. The one without an object is the breath of Vajradhara, which is Nirvana. So it is said. The meaning of the nomenclature of this text is: At the time of the base, from the two of mind and body, the part of happiness and clarity of the mind is the breath of the Tathagata with an object. Because the nature of happiness is not known, craving arises, which is the cause of Samsara. From confusion about clarity, the appearance of the result of Samsara arises, which is called Samsara. The part of the mind that is empty of both grasping and being grasped is the breath of Vajradhara. By indicating the attachment to the Dharmadhatu, and the reversal of the taste equality of those happiness and clarity, it is the same as the way the great Vajradhara pervades all the Tathagatas, because it enters the way of pervasiveness. Because the path is cultivated on that very nature that is free from grasping and being grasped, it is for the sake of directly realizing Nirvana, so it is called Nirvana. From the aspect of the body of Samsara, the essence of the five nectars is the support of happiness, so it is the breath of Vajradhara. The twenty-four channels and so on are the breath of the Tathagata, because they generate the body with various transformations. In relation to the path, it is said that the breath of the Sugata is spoken of, as it is said in the Fifty Verses on the Guru and so on: The pure body is without defects. Thus, all the Dharmas with form in the Completion Stage are the breath of the Sugata, and pervading them, the part of the path without form that is inseparable from bliss and emptiness is the breath of Vajradhara. In relation to the result, the body of all forms is the breath of the Sugata, and the mind born together is, it should be known, established as the breath of Vajradhara. The connection between the ground, path, and result is that from the two wheels of the E (Tibetan: ཨེ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ए, Sanskrit Romanization: e, Chinese literal meaning: E) syllable, the breath of Vajradhara of the ground, path, and result arises, and from the two wheels of the Vam (Tibetan: བཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Vam) syllable, the breaths of the Sugata of the ground, path, and result arise. Thus, it is detailed with reasons.

It should be determined in this way. Among these, the meaning of this treatise, the real or main point is this: Here, the so-called "wisdom," in terms of the object to be realized, is established as Dharmata (nature of reality), and in terms of the wisdom that can realize, it is established as the Path Truth. Among these two, here it is the former. Therefore, Dharmata has no distinctions in terms of essence, but in terms of characteristics, there are two types: with an object of focus, the primordial wisdom that has arisen from the beginning in all aspects; without an object of focus, the unchanging nature of great bliss, the self-nature that is not tainted by the appearance of grasping and being grasped. The union of these two is Dharmata. Thus, these two wisdoms are the place where one exhales. There, the way of exhaling is twofold: Although it is the wisdom of all aspects from the beginning, it is completely covered by karma and afflictions, and the endless aspects of suffering. Through the path with focus, such as the deity's body, channels, winds, bindus, etc., as well as faith, renunciation, compassion, offerings, and dedication, etc., by showing various methods, from all impure appearances, the pure appearance of the original ground is manifested. This is called exhaling in the wheel of the mandala of the Tathagata, because all aspects are also the state of samsara and Dharmata, so it is called by the name of samsara, or it is the ultimate truth of samsara. The path without focus, the side of emptiness and the side of bliss become one taste. From this, the self-nature of reality, the great bliss that is free from grasping and being grasped, the obscuring stains for it are: these characteristics are fully possessed, clinging to things as real, as well as clinging to self and what belongs to self, and the unclear ignorance, and the changing habits of mind that have entered into the bliss of self-nature, etc., cease. Thus, the self-nature of self-awareness is manifested. This is exhaling in the great bliss of Vajradhara, which is the Dharmata of Nirvana. Here, two controversies will arise: As it is said in the scriptures: The various distinctions of Dharmata are the Nirvana of the three vehicles. In this way, is Dharmata itself not Nirvana? How can the Dharmata with the characteristic of Nirvana and the self-aware great bliss be compatible with Dharmata? This is the controversy.
