This sleeping yoga is a pith instruction that is not found 6-332 elsewhere. At any time, day or night, with intense devotion, when coarse thoughts cease and the mind naturally abides, cultivate the wisdom of non-elaboration and co-emergence for a long time. Second, the yoga of unequaled compassion is: maintain balance in body posture and other behaviors. After taking refuge and generating bodhicitta, visualize yourself as Yama, the Lord of Death. Visualize the lama on your crown and pray to him. Visualize someone who harms you, like an enemy, in front of you. Consider them as your own real mother in this life, and generate intense love for them. Focus your body and mind, (meditate), "This person who harms me is so pitiful! They are my kind mother, who has bestowed immeasurable benefits on me." Thinking like this in your heart, also recite, "This person who harms me is so pitiful!" Recite it a hundred times, fifty times, or twenty-one times. Then think, why does compassion arise? Because this person has been my mother in countless lifetimes, and as a mother, they have given me immeasurable benefits, so they are so pitiful! Thinking like this, recite and meditate as before. Again, why does compassion arise? Because they are so kind to me, but now they are like a madman, not knowing our mother-child relationship, and instead harming me, their son, so they are so pitiful! Thinking like this, recite it orally as before. Again, why does compassion arise? Because by harming me like this, they will fall into hell under the control of bad karma, so they are so pitiful! Thinking like this, recite as before. Like this, think about various reasons and cultivate compassion, until tears flow involuntarily, hairs stand on end, and the body cannot bear it. At the end, generate this thought: May all sentient beings, led by this person who harms me, attain the state of perfect and complete enlightenment. And visualize all sentient beings attaining the state of Manjushri Yamantaka. Like this, understand that all appearances are your own mind, and cultivate the state of non-elaboration as before. Taking the harmer as an example, gradually train in relation to enemies, friends, neutral parties, and all sentient beings. Third, the yoga of the root cause is: the bodhicitta of exchanging self and others.

The usual practice is to combine adverse conditions and practice into one. The first is, after taking refuge and generating bodhicitta, and visualizing oneself as Yama, the Lord of Death, and visualizing the lama on the crown of one's head, etc., one contemplates all sentient beings within the scope of one's mind, and cultivates compassion intensely as before. What harms them? Sins and suffering harm them. What benefits them? Knowing that happiness and virtue benefit them. Therefore, contemplate that all the sins and sufferings of all sentient beings ripen on me, and all my happiness and virtue ripen on sentient beings, and how wonderful it would be if sentient beings possessed temporary and ultimate, inconceivable happiness! May the suffering of all sentient beings ripen on me! May my virtue enable them all to attain happiness! Recite these words. That is, all the sins and sufferings of all sentient beings ripen on me, and all my own virtue and happiness emanate from my heart in the form of rays of light, like the rising sun, striking all sentient beings, causing them all to attain the state of Manjushri. Contemplate in this way. Practice this again and again, constantly. The second is divided into three: turning adverse conditions into the path, turning illness into the path, and turning demonic obstacles into the path. All three of these have the same preliminaries as before. The first is, when afflictions, suffering, depression, aversion, unaccomplished tasks, discomfort, or anything else arises due to the power of adverse conditions, then, focusing on that, gather all the negative karma, obscurations, and suffering of the three realms, with beings of the same kind as the main focus, and combine this with aspiration prayers to practice. For example, when anger arises in one's own mind, may the anger of all sentient beings, with angry sentient beings as the main focus, ripen on me! May all sentient beings be free from anger! Furthermore, may all the karma and afflictions that exist as causes ripen on this anger of mine! In particular, starting from the suffering of hell, contemplate the suffering of each of the six realms one by one, and may all of that ripen on this anger of mine! Recite these words and contemplate intensely in your mind. At the end of the session, rest the mind equally on the deity image and non-proliferation. Similarly, the second, for illness, is also, wherever it hurts,
