Here, the biographical history of Virupa is appended, with more details available elsewhere. Thus, all the tantras of the Red, Black, and Terrifying Three were transmitted to the Brahmin Shri Dhara. The former teacher was Lilavajra, in the middle was Buddha Jñānapāda, and finally, the teacher was Shri Dhara. These three are known as the Vajra Acharyas of the Great Mandala. For beginners, only the generation stage is praised, etc., this is the teaching that includes the activities of the generation stage. The profound, clear, non-duality, spontaneously accomplished view, etc., the teachings and views are also consistent. Among them, the teacher Shri Dhara was born into a Brahmin family in the country of Magadha around the end of King Dharmapala's life. From a young age, he became proficient in many disciplines such as phonetics and logic. He was ordained and fully ordained at the glorious Odantapuri Monastery. He also became proficient in the Tripitaka, and having received the transmission from Marme Dze Sangpo, he relied on some teachers in the lineage of Jñānapāda such as Shri De, and understood the views of Guhyasamaja and Yamantaka, focusing single-mindedly on the practice of the glorious Yamantaka, and thus mastered great wisdom. He wanted to benefit sentient beings, and in order to awaken his abilities, he wandered in the forests. Merely pointing a threatening gesture at rhinos, buffaloes, and tigers, they would die. Merely looking at them, they would revive. Furthermore, merely through meditation, he would collect the juice of fruits, etc., into his bowl and consume it. Those things would become very hard, and when the hand drum was shaken, they would return to their original vitality. Then, when he went to Vidarbha in the southern region, there was a Dharma-speaking bhikshu proficient in the Tripitaka, who was a leader in debate, and he debated with him. The heretics in that place therefore declined. There, a king of the Brahmin caste named Hasa Deva, who was very attached to wrong views, was preparing to cut off the head of that bhikshu. This teacher came there and said, "Benefiting the world is the Buddhist Dharma, is it permissible to cut off the head of someone who holds this teaching? Do not cut it, I will redeem him." The king said, "Since a head is deceiving with a head, then take your own head." The teacher cut off his own head and offered it to the king.
