After familiarizing oneself with the practice in this way, one will naturally arise from the stages of luminosity, effortlessly accomplishing the eight perfections of union and mastery. The initial boundary for the accomplishment of union is equipoise; to desire it in the post-meditation state is mistaken. In any path of meditative power, equipoise of one's own kind must precede the arising of post-meditation. It is impossible for post-meditation to exist before equipoise. (It is reasonable [moreover], even from the perspective of mere words, it is self-contradictory.) Furthermore, if one thinks that luminosity is equipoise and this is its post-meditation, so there is no contradiction, then at the end of the equipoise of the stages of luminosity, if post-meditation arises, it is reasonable that the post-meditation of that very stage should arise. But how could the post-meditation of the stages of union arise? Therefore, if there is something that is both union and post-meditation, then before that, there must necessarily be something that is both union and equipoise. The non-learning union is the separation from the distinctions of what is to be trained, the nature of reality, and what trains, the path. It is the state of perfect enlightenment, where there is no distinction between what is to be realized and what realizes, between object and subject, and which always abides. Here, too, the mind, the Dharmakaya, and the Rupakaya are referred to as union, but there is absolutely no difference in the essence of body and mind. This is the stage of union among the five stages. Although many characteristics and names of union are explained here, as it is said: "Having gradually known that nature, self-blessing and luminosity, whatever is gathered in that nature, this is the stage of union." Thus, the union of speech and wisdom is explained, and this characteristic is the main one. Conventional and ultimate, having known the parts of each separately, wherever there is a true mixture, that is said to be union. Thus, the union of the two truths is explained. "Grasping and holding," it is said, "there is no dualistic mind; wherever there is an undivided mind, that is said to be union." Thus, the meaning of non-duality in union is explained, and that which abandons grasping and holding and possesses wisdom is the establishment of non-dual union. These two characteristics and names are necessary even in a brief explanation. Abiding in the state of union is the practitioner who is learning.

Yogis! Having meditated on union, the conduct is also inseparable from it. This is called the union of learning, which, if distinguished, is the ten or twelve grounds of the noble path. All the Buddhas of the Ganges sands have understood this in their hearts, abandoning the sides of existence and non-existence, and have achieved the Great Seal. This is called the union of no-more-learning, which, if distinguished, is the four bodies and five wisdoms. Having abided in the stages of union, one no longer needs to learn in any field. The word "no-more-learning" here does not refer to the union of no-more-learning, but rather to the fact that after attaining union, one does not need to learn different paths. This encompasses both the union of learning and no-more-learning. The conduct of the ascetic yogi who enhances the power of the path, including the classifications of with signs, without signs, and extremely without signs, should all be understood from the "Lamp of Compendium of Conduct." A brief explanation will be given below. Other classifications are also included in this. Third, the way in which other classifications are included in this: taming the continuum, four yogas, three samadhis, four recitations and practices, sixfold union, four mudras. In addition, there are various symbolic ways of representing terms. 5-712 First is: "The lama who possesses bodhicitta." This means, first of all, does this meaning include all the paths to the other shore? Or, how should one rely on the lama? Answer: These generation and completion stages must always be combined with relative bodhicitta, that is, loving-kindness and great compassion. One must always grasp emptiness, which is the realization of the two selflessnesses, as ultimate bodhicitta. Because emptiness and great compassion include all the categories of the path. To symbolize it briefly, loving-kindness and compassion are the cause of relative bodhicitta. Taking and abandoning cause and effect is faith. Thinking about the difficulty of finding leisure and endowment, the impermanence of death, and the suffering of samsara is the practice of renunciation. Thinking of faith and renunciation is also only a part of bodhicitta, only a cause and condition of loving-kindness and compassion. Therefore, all of this is included in relative bodhicitta. All the precepts of guarding against misdeeds are also included in taking and abandoning cause and effect. The aggregates, elements, sources, dependent origination, etc., should all be mastered in the six things.
