As it is said, "Immaculate Origin," which is the wisdom of emptiness. In the Lamp Illuminating Treatise, it says, "Because all sentient beings are the essence of the Tathagata." This explains that it has the essence of the Tathagata, but it does not regard sentient beings and the Tathagata as synonyms. Therefore, in the commentary on the Later Tantra, The Secret Lamp, which is falsely attributed to Naropa, identifying the person who is like a precious jewel as the basis of the cause tantra, from one point of view, it seems barely acceptable, but it is not a good explanation. 5-151 Again, in the Lamp Illuminating Treatise, it says, "The continuum of one's own body, speech, and mind arises from one moment to the next. Because it is indivisible, it is vajra, and it enters into and abides in clear light." Some people think that momentary destruction and the continuity of permanence are the same, but this is a misunderstanding. The body, speech, and mind of samsaric beings, which have the characteristic of impermanence, enter into and abide in the permanent clear light vajra, meaning that the impermanent appearance abides in the permanent state. Therefore, it is not explaining the permanence of the nature of reality as non-substantial, nor is it binding things to a moment. Therefore, in the Accomplishment of Wisdom, it says, "Great bliss is not impermanent; great bliss is always permanent." Similarly, in the Lamp Summarizing Conduct, it says, "From the instructions of all the Tathagatas, truly practicing, it is not used by those who look outward, it is difficult to offer, and the mind that is completely familiar with the realm of the Buddhas, its nature is rootless, unlocalized, baseless, signless, formless, beyond the senses, and not used by speculators." And it says, "In truth, the mind is without form or color, merely appearance, the nature equal to space, difficult to touch, like the ultimate truth." Although this is the case, the three appearances that are merely appearances depend on the wind and become common, so they arise again. Thus, rather than denying non-existence, it is more difficult to understand, more complex, peaceful in signs, profound, and vast in Dharma.

Thus it is. The mere appearance being equal to space means that the clarity of awareness is as limitless as space. The alaya-consciousness, which is the root of awareness, can also be the same as the actual ultimate wisdom. Also, in the 'Lamp for Compiling Practices,' the Blessed One said in all the scriptures spoken in the Sutras and so on, 'Even in billions of kalpas, if that is missing, it will not be accomplished.' As it is said. As it is said in the sutra called 'The Blessed One Questioned by Four Goddesses,' in the Great Yoga Tantra, it is also said, 'Of the Great Hero's teachings, in the eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma, whoever does not know that, all of that is fruitless.' The Vajra student asked, 'Without knowing that very nature, one will not become a Buddha.' The Blessed One said so. Furthermore, the self-nature of that very nature should be heard from the door of the scriptures. Because the Mahayana practitioners and logicians and so on abide in this meaning and contemplate that very nature in various ways, in order to summarize them, what is that very nature? Please explain, Blessed One. The Vajra Acharya said, 'Whatever is true is that very nature.' Asked, 'Blessed One, what is meant by true?' Replied, 'Whatever is not deceptive is called true.' Asked, 'What is meant by non-deceptive?' Replied, 'The samadhi that is the nature of extreme truth is called non-deceptive.' Asked, 'What is meant by the samadhi that is the nature of truth?' Replied, 'Whatever is the nature of the aspect that is inseparable from the two truths is the samadhi that is the nature of truth.' Asked, 'Blessed One, what are the two truths?' Replied, 'The first is the conventional truth, and the second is the ultimate truth.' Thus. The order of connecting these two in union is the samadhi that is the nature of truth, and whatever is the complete pacification of all objects is called that very nature. Thus it is said. Samadhi is also called one-pointed wisdom.
