It is divided into two, namely self and others. The vehicle of that consciousness is wind. From wind comes fire. From fire comes water. From water comes earth. From these arise the five aggregates, the six sense bases, and the five objects; all of these are mixed with consciousness. Thus it is said that by the power of the mind's nature, which is non-conceptual, there arises what is called the root consciousness, that mind in which the three non-conceptual appearances are mixed as one. From that arises the conceptual consciousness of mind, which appears as grasper and grasped. These give rise to all defilements and pure dharmas. Among these, the concept that appears as self is the afflicted mind, and the concept that appears as other is the consciousness of mind. From that arise the four elements, and from that arise the five aggregates and the twelve sense bases. This is the meaning of that. 5-156 Although the nature of union is always present, it is impossible for it to manifest during samsara, except during the stages of the path and fruition. If one directly sees it as such, one will attain the state of Vajradhara at will. Because one has not realized it, one wanders among various beings. Likewise, in the Explanatory Tantra, the Teaching that Points Out the Intent, it says: The one who points out the ultimate limit of the future. The ultimate end of the past is the same. Having manifested that mind, one should do as one pleases. Because the mind is not seen by that, it becomes various views. Therefore, these in samsara, become the names of the six realms. Therefore, relying on Brahma, Vishnu, and the great Lord. The actions of the sun and moon, they perform all. It is said to be the Thirty-three, and the abode of Tushita, and likewise others also in hell, they go in an instant with views. They also go to the realm of pretas, and to various realms of beings. When ignorance relies on everything, one does not know oneself. With thought and without thought, abiding here is considered as sentient beings. It arises from wind, and also ceases again from wind. Also by the division of day and night, one falls into one's own conceptualizations. These, fearing from samsara, go to various beings.

That non-discriminating mind, even if it abides in the ocean of samsara, due to being inverted and confused, that mind will become a dog, a jackal, an elephant, and even a horse. Likewise, it will become a pig, the lowborn and mute among humans, and all kinds of edible and inedible birds. The bodhicitta will arise among Brahmins and other worldly wise people; it arises from the bodhicitta. The aggregates and other things will become empty, but one will know what one experiences. This is what is called worldly wisdom. The bodhicitta of the all-knower, through focusing on faults, will manifest as a Buddha, its nature like an illusion, merely an expression of words. Thus it is said, due to the power of the imprints placed on the mind, propelled by the wind, connecting with each individual being, when grasping the forms of each individual being, it becomes the root. That wind-mind, acting similarly to the agent, is invisible; therefore, that wind-mind is called by the names of the six realms of beings. That mind is fixated on the three of bliss, clarity, and non-discrimination, and on the three deities such as Brahma, and the single-flavored wind is fixated on as the sun and moon and day and night. Because of wandering by grasping various forms in the six realms, by knowing that the aggregates and other things are separate from reality, like an illusion, the imprints and wind become completely purified, and when abiding in the sole bodhicitta, liberation is attained. This is a general explanation of the causes of the mind's samsara. The specific way in which the samsara of womb-born beings occurs is explained in the sequential expositions. In detail, in the Vajra Garland, the entire process of the body's formation in the womb is explained in detail by combining the ten months and the ten entries of Vishnu, as well as the way of abiding after it is formed. The root of abiding, the wind of movement, and the way of arranging the bodhicitta are all explained very extensively. That treatise explains the non-scattered points in one place, so it is easy to find. Because there would be many letters here, it has not been quoted. From this tantra: "Righteous strength and very righteous strength, very good and good will go."
