After a moment, although dreams may arise or exist immediately, regardless of the length of time, a clear light of sleep must appear before dreaming. For a yogi, the first attainment is a sleep like fainting into unconsciousness, and then the fainting subsides. The moment when thoughts do not arise and dreams do not appear is the fourth attainment or the actual clear light. Therefore, one must cultivate the instructions of clear light on this basis. Moreover, the previous experience of bliss and emptiness is further enhanced by the intervening state of unconsciousness, thus manifesting as a state of boundless bliss and emptiness. This is the transformation of ordinary, thick sleep into the bliss and emptiness of the path. Therefore, thick sleep is transformed into the path in a manner similar to the fruition of the Dharmakaya, which is called the blending of the clear light of thick sleep with the Dharmakaya. The cultivation of clear light at the time of awakening from sleep, which corresponds to the stages of dissolution, is also called the blending of clear light with the Dharmakaya for the same reason. When a slight movement of habitual patterns occurs in the clear light of sleep, a very subtle part of the reversal of the three appearances arises, and dreams arise due to the movement of the winds. So, how does one practice the blending of dreams? It has already been explained before, therefore, one should blend it with appearances. This statement is also the source of the explanation for the name "blending instructions," which is widely known in this context. The meaning has been repeatedly explained and will be explained again in the future. The instructions on the clear light of death are similar to the explanation of the two clear lights that enter in stages, so it can also represent it in general. Furthermore, the Compendium of Conduct says: If a practitioner has realized the truth, but is distracted by farming, business, and gain and honor due to the power of past habitual patterns, and does not practice the three conducts; or if other practitioners do not practice because they do not have enough resources to fully perform the rituals mentioned in the scriptures, then will these people be reborn in another existence when they die? Such a doubt is raised. Here, seeing the truth is the name for the ultimate exemplary clear light of mind isolation.

is attained, and the first attainment of the illusory body sequence occurs only once, so the person who attains the illusory body sequence is considered to have seen the truth here. If the three practices are not practiced due to laziness, distraction, or lack of resources, will rebirth occur again? Or will it not occur? In this regard, is there death and intermediate state? Or is there not? The answer to this is: As it is said in that scripture: "Similarly, having realized the perfection stage, having done everything, one passes into nirvana in the world, do not doubt this." Therefore, knowing that very nature is because the conditions are not complete, if one does not practice as said, even if one dies having abandoned all views, it is the ultimate truth, and birth is the conventional truth. Having correctly realized this, one enters the clear light in the hundred paths, abandons the aggregates of the other path, and arises with the sequence of blessing oneself, generating a firm mind, and abiding with that in mind, then, in other lives, one will not abandon that mindfulness, therefore one will become omniscient. Therefore, with whatever thought, people's minds are correctly combined, therefore that nature will change, like various jewels. Thus it is said. Therefore, all of these are completely transformed by a special transformation, like a complete transformation, therefore the special result will be achieved. Here it is said: Whoever's birth is the conventional truth, the name of death is also the ultimate truth, by the grace of the two stages of those gurus, the one who obtains this is the future Buddha, the union of those two truths, like being inseparable, those have no difference, the two names are ultimately one, knowing this one is liberated from bondage. Thus it is said, and in order to support this view, quoting the scriptural proof, it is determined that birth and death are unreal, if birth and cessation are established in the state, then temporarily in the yogi's mind it appears as being free from birth and cessation, but ultimately one cannot be liberated from birth and death, because no matter how good the method is, it will not transcend the state. Even so, birth and cessation
