All agree that practice must be cultivated. Most people think that it doesn't matter which of the three practices is cultivated. However, in the Kalachakra and other scriptures, three stages of recollection are taught, with three successive mudras. The illusory body treatise of Arya Deva also says: "Corresponding to one mudra, or corresponding to four mudras, residing in the retinue of consorts, one should also recollect self-blessing." The intention of what is said also corresponds to the recollection of the Kalachakra, and does not refer to one or four or many consort mudras. In accordance with this, in order to increase and stabilize the illusory body, in the first stage, one should rely on either the external mudra with or without elaboration; in the intermediate stage, one should rely on the mind mudra; and in the final stage, one should practice the extremely non-elaborate, relying on the appearance of the illusory body itself. The meaning of this is: the illusory body is both the temporary Vajrasattva and the powerful factor of the ultimate Vajrasattva. Therefore, benefiting the cause is the supreme method of benefiting the result. Even if the illusory body is not actually obtained now, the wind-mind blessed by the bliss of emptiness is the real factor of Vajrasattva. Whether the wind-mind is accomplished as an illusory body or not, it equally pervades one's own body, speech, and mind. The essence of the aggregates, elements, and sources belonging to one's own three doors (body, speech, and mind) is also placed in the mandala of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, similar to what is said in the mandala at the time of Vajrasattva. Moreover, the subtle wind-mind, whose nature is integrated with the wisdom of all Buddhas of the three times, is equally integrated with the Dharmadhatu mandala. Therefore, one should practice the conduct of a disciplined practitioner and engage in offering with the pleasure of one's own desirable qualities. Because one's own body, speech, and mind reside in the gathering of the mandalas of all Buddhas and all Bodhisattvas, one should strive to offer oneself in every way. In the stage of elaboration, reciting mantras, etc.

The combination of mudras and responses to mudras, etc., as well as assembly halls, and mandalas actually constructed, and the conceptualizations such as mandalas meditated on by the mind, as well as outer and inner fire offerings, and all offerings such as tormas, should also be constantly meditated on as being like illusions. Likewise, relying on the samadhi of conduct, for the purpose of subduing other sentient beings through peaceful actions, and also increasing, and likewise, the actions of power and fierce manifestation, and whatever else such as summoning, one should benefit sentient beings through all those means, but should act like an इंद्र धनुष (Sanskrit Devanagari: indra dhanus, Sanskrit Romanization: indra dhanus, meaning: Indra's bow, i.e., rainbow). Entering into the attire of deities, etc., adorned with various clothes and ornaments, with coquettishness such as graceful postures, and closely enjoying the five objects of desire, and relying on songs and dances etc. for the sake of offering, and the manner of holding dances and weapons, and sexual practices etc., one should also thoroughly engage in arts such as illusion, and should meditate on them as being like water moons. In particular, the five outer objects of enjoyment, and the five inner objects of enjoyment of the vidya, namely form, sound, and likewise smell, taste, and touch, these five objects themselves, when the five senses such as the eye enter into them, and thus experience the bliss of the objects of desire, one should examine and meditate on them as being like illusions. Here, the statement that one should meditate on them as being like illusions, rainbows, and water moons, the common meaning is to know that they appear but lack inherent existence, and the uncommon meaning is to mix that appearance with the appearance of the mandala of wind and mind, so that those are transformed into the appearance of wisdom and dissolve into it, which is the meaning of what should be practiced. Third, the measure of the completion of the illusory body stage is, in that Vajrayana it says: "Here, what need is there to say much? Whatever the yogi focuses on, that, that he observes as being like an illusion. Like the image in a mirror, dreams, illusions, and water bubbles, whoever sees them as being the same as the illusion of cataracts, it is said that he is the chief. The nature of seeing and touching, the realm of beings is like an illusion, the conventional truth without an object, is said to be most excellent like an illusion." Whichever sense
