When manifesting the emanation body for the benefit of sentient beings, although there is no effort of the emanation mind, when the body with the appearance of seeing, hearing, and touching appears to those sentient beings to be tamed, although the wisdom body has no coming and going, it enters into the various realms of the gross appearance in a pervasive manner, just as the sky pervades all things. Just as the wisdom body enters the emanation body and performs the activities of the emanation body, so too, at the base stage, the power of the dream body performs the activity of awakening, and the illusory body of meditative equipoise appears purely as pure appearance. That, in the post-meditation stage, enters into the gross outer and inner world. Therefore, it is believed that the fruit of dreams will appear upon awakening, because during the dream state, the power of the changing appearance of wind and mind, its continuation is also present in the awakened body, so the fruit arises. And due to the power of the wisdom body, the emanation body also performs activities such as teaching the Dharma, and as the merits of the illusory body of meditative equipoise increase, the activities of the post-meditation illusory body also increase. The more numerous and clear the illusory deity bodies of meditative equipoise are, the more subtle and clear this impure body of post-meditation becomes. Here, regarding the differences in the distinction and aggregation of the gross body and wind-mind, some of our teachers, such as the great venerable Paṇḍita Mahāparinirvāṇaśrī, have said: In the ordinary state, the two are very mixed like clay and water, but in this third stage, the nature is very unmixed, but they gather together like cotton wool taken out of water. Therefore, although the two gather together, their essence is very unmixed. It is said like that, and there is also an example like this: For example, the sky of a vase pervades and mixes without difference in the vase, but when the vase is seen, the sky is not seen, and when the vase is broken, the sky is seen but there is no vase. Also, even if the vase is not broken, if an obscuring substance mantra is applied to the vase, the vase exists but cannot be seen, but the sky can be seen. If one examines with a divine eye, both the vase and the sky of the vase can be seen at the same time, similarly, for the gross body.
