It is like that. Just as the power of a magician's mantra 5-168 produces various illusions, which is the nature of dependent arising, so too, relying on mantras to quickly achieve enlightenment is also the principle of Dharma. Similarly, eating five iron hooks will accomplish five kinds of clairvoyance, and the differences between karma and accomplishments, all accomplished through that ritual, are also merely the principle of Dharma, just like fire burns. Therefore, one should generate faith in mantras. These teachings on the Buddha's teachings, if well understood before entering mantra, would be good, but it is not absolutely necessary. In general, a secret mantra practitioner must practice, and before the arising of the special wisdom of the two stages, it is absolutely necessary that those have already arisen in the continuum. Regarding this, the unique meditation of mantra is: The Dharma taught by the Buddhas, truly abides in the two stages, namely the generation stage and the completion stage. Regarding this, the common characteristics of the two stages should be understood elsewhere, while the unique aspects here will be explained below. The detailed classification of the completion stage here is the five stages. Third, the continuum of the result: As mentioned above, there is no difference in essence from the continuum of the cause. However, as it is said, "Therefore, liberation is merely the cessation of afflictions." Like that, those continuums of the cause, separated from all defilements, are the continuum of the result. This is a rough explanation. In detail, it is the single nature of clear light. For sentient beings, becoming the Buddha of the cause, having the name of having attained Buddhahood, all sentient beings dissolving into primordial wisdom is becoming the Buddha of the result. 5-169 There is no difference in terms of things between the continuum of the cause and the continuum of the result, but each is distinguished in relation to the individual. For example, King Śuddhodana, in relation to Simhahanu, is a son, and in relation to Ananda, is like a father. It is only a difference in perspective. The characteristics of the continuum of the result are the three bodies, the five wisdoms, and

Wealth The eight, etc., will be explained at the time of the fruit. Main points of the text Secondly, the main points of the text are divided into three: the certainty of the two stages, the certainty of the five stages, and the certainty of relying on the guru's oral instructions. The first is: "Those who are well-versed in the generation stage and desire the perfection stage, this method of the perfect Buddha is taught as a ladder." That is to say, for those who are to be tamed, who have received empowerment and whose samaya vows have not been broken, they should first study the generation stage. Because practicing the generation stage can ripen the ability to generate the realization of the perfection stage and tame the mindstream. Therefore, it is reasonable to practice the generation stage first. Among them, some dull-witted people, because they do not have the capacity to practice the perfection stage now, have no choice but to practice the generation stage. If they are familiar with this, they will gradually have the capacity to practice the perfection stage later. Therefore, they must practice the generation stage. Although some dull-witted and medium-witted people can practice the perfection stage a little from the beginning, if they first practice the generation stage, it will be easier to generate the realization of the perfection stage, and there will be no obstacles or deviations. If they do not practice the generation stage, it will be the opposite. Therefore, they must also practice the generation stage. Those with sharp faculties can practice the higher paths without relying on the generation stage, but only on the perfection stage. However, it is better to practice the generation stage first. Because this will be more effective later and the path will be faster. For example, even if one has less obscurations and is endowed with great merit, it is better to strive to practice the accumulation and purification of the preliminaries. Therefore, the generation stage should be practiced first. If the samadhi of the generation stage is well accomplished and one abides in it, for those who want to generate the wisdom of the perfection stage, this method of showing the five stages, etc., is like the rungs of a ladder, and one must obtain the lower and lower in order to practice the higher and higher. The perfect Buddha has said this in the tantras. That is, the generation stage and the perfection stage are the five stages, and these six should be practiced in order.
