When the coarse absorption begins, depending on the eighty natures, the coarse conceptualizations also dissolve, and when the twenty are completely dissolved, the eighty coarse thoughts are also completely dissolved. The subtle ones operate together with the four: mind, dharma, space, and consciousness. Therefore, this refers to the three aggregates dissolving together with the three appearances. However, this needs to be examined. Although this system is like that, other systems such as the Yogini Tantras hold that wind dissolves into space, and at that time, the way the five dharmas of the space realm gradually cease is also similar to others. When space dissolves into consciousness, during the stage of consciousness, the three appearances arise sequentially, and one must enter the clear light. If so, the two systems seem contradictory, so which of these two should generally be taken as the standard? Generally, due to the power of sentient beings' thoughts, wherever the mind is placed, that is what appears. However, this system holds that during the time when wind dissolves into consciousness, there is a union that produces the first appearance. That is the stage of the way the space realm dissolves according to other systems. Other systems say that the space realm has already dissolved at that time, while here it is held that there is an operation of the movement of all the conceptualizations of the space realm, and it must be acknowledged that it dissolves at this stage, so this is the same key point. During the stage of the three appearances, the four dharmas of space and consciousness dissolve, this system says, and other systems also say that the parts that generate dualistic appearances must dissolve during the stage of the three appearances, which is the same meaning. Therefore, the way the two systems are not contradictory is like that. Similarly, this system holds that the earth element dissolves and mirages appear, the water element dissolves and smoke appears, the fire element dissolves and sky-appearance appears, the wind element dissolves and lamplight appears. The space element is not done separately, but during the stage of the sequence of consciousness dissolving, based on the appearance of cloudless space, the three, white, red, and black, are considered to arise. In the "Compendium of Conduct," during the stage of the fourth sequence, the first is like a mirage, seeing the collection possessing five rays of light. The second is appearance, like the rays of the moon. The third is the increase of appearance, like the rays of the sun. The fourth is obtaining appearance, like darkness. Then there is darkness and

In the moment of separation, there is clear light, thus speaking of five stages. Some people's distinction of combining the latter four with smoke etc. is unreasonable. Therefore, like a mirage, it is a symbol. When the gross ones all dissolve, the first four signs, and each one also has the five aggregates and five elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space dissolving in order, therefore it is seen to possess five rays of light. Thus it is said. According to the tantras and oral instructions of many other schools, the fifth sign, the sign of cloudless sky, is when the space element dissolves. At the time of the dissolution sequence of consciousness, there are three: white, red, and black. In the glorious Kalachakra, at that time all ten signs are present. And at the time of clear light, it is said to be all aspects. In general, the ten and three signs are the same in meaning, except for the difference in the way of explaining them in detail and brief. Although all aspects are not explained in detail, this school must also accept that the sign of space, which does not include the three: white, red, and black, although it is not explicitly stated in this school, it is not contradictory in meaning, because it is the basis for the appearance of the three lights, therefore it must be accepted in meaning in this school as well, but it is not listed separately in order. Thus, the three appearances, and the wind with its own nature, and the way of dissolving gross and subtle, if one does not gain certainty about these, then the understanding of the completion stage of this school will lose its foundation, and in this aspect, all that are known as the oral instructions of the six dharmas also rely on this, therefore it is very pervasive, but if one does not understand the detailed distinctions, then merely understanding it roughly cannot represent even one aspect, it belongs to the category of profound meanings, therefore it is compiled, detailed, and clearly recorded. This method is said to be the bardo introduction, it is spread in the mouths of all the villagers. Gaining definite understanding of the distinctions as they are, is one in a hundred even among the wise. Although it is said in all the tantras, scriptures, and oral instructions, who has the pointing-out introduction? I think that perhaps one can understand one aspect through the power of awakening habitual patterns and blessings. Thus it is said. In the quoted proof of the distinction sequence, it says that the wind moves slowly, meaning that the breath is gathered, and the object of smell does not change, meaning that one cannot smell. The sound of one's own body is the sound of the ear. The remaining appearance of self-nature is the wisdom of Manjushri, meaning the three appearances, mind...
