Able to purify. For the true nature of reality, having faith with the aspect of closeness and longing, compassion for sentient beings, and diligent samadhi, and wisdom that enters into the nature of reality, etc., all the dharmas of the path also appear in the manifestation of self-aware and self-illuminating consciousness, gradually purifying the other adventitious stains that should be abandoned. The basis of all manifestations of the dharmas of the path, mere consciousness, is also absorbed into the true nature of reality by the power of meditating on the path. That consciousness, together with the appearance of duality of grasper and grasped, is the obscuration of mind itself. Therefore, it purifies the obscuration of the basis of the path. The path itself ultimately belongs to obscuration, but it removes all other obscurations. In the end, just as fire vanishes when firewood is exhausted, the path itself also goes to self-pacification. At that time, all conventional obscurations are exhausted, and only the true nature of reality pervades, which is called attaining Buddhahood and the ultimate result. That is to say, there is no distinction between when the dharmadhatu itself is obscured by obscurations, when obscurations are being removed, and when they have already been removed, but there are three kinds of manifestations in the order of the minds of sentient beings. It can be compared to the example of the time of a blind person living at the foot of Mount Sumeru and the time of opening his eyes. Likewise, it is said in the sutra: "The realm has three states, It is the teaching of three people." Because the nature of reality is difficult to realize, the three states of the individual who possesses the lineage are separately established with names, so that reality can be understood. Therefore, it is entering into reality. Secondly, thus, the door of manifestation, all the dharmas of the three bases, paths, and results, and the all-pervading dharmadhatu, the suchness, are here taken as the object to be explained, and it is determined that these are free from elaboration. What is meant by freedom from elaboration and non-elaboration? What is the elaboration that needs to be separated, and what is the elaboration that needs to be removed? Is it object and subject, or consciousness and object of consciousness, or object of realization and agent of realization, or grasper and grasped, etc., and large and small, good and bad, edge and center, etc., and the directions such as east, etc.

Moreover, the aspects of time such as past, future, and present, and the aspects of place such as outer, inner, and intermediate, and the aspects of essence such as arising, ceasing, and abiding, are confused, and we add distinctions and cling to appearances. These elaborations are actually non-existent, but are established by the mind. They are merely names, merely symbols, without any labels, existing alone in a pleasing state, but although they appear to exist, they have never existed in the nature and state of things. The Tathagata Buddha also said that they do not exist. Even if investigated with wisdom born of thought, they cannot be found. Even with wisdom born of meditation, it is realized that they do not exist. Since the noble ones have never seen anything, these characteristics of elaboration are non-existent from the beginning in both the basis, the conventional and the ultimate. They have never been established from the beginning. The reason why each of these elaborations does not exist is not written here, because there is not enough to say, and a rough understanding easily leads to superimposition, and subtle reasons are difficult for ordinary people to understand, and the reasoning of proof is not in accordance with the meaning of the moment when introducing meditation, and this is commonly recognized by all Mahayana sutras and tantras, and it can be found by searching elsewhere. One should understand the uncommon characteristics as follows: These phenomena, which are the collection of conventional appearances, such as object and subject, large and small, edge and center, arising, ceasing, and abiding, are not established. Because of the reason that these are not established, these appearances only appear in illusion, but do not actually exist. The reason for this is that if these three states of arising, ceasing, and abiding exist, then the three states of arising, ceasing, and abiding must be established, but since the three states of arising, ceasing, and abiding are not established at all, the appearance of the three states of arising, ceasing, and abiding is only an illusion. The same reasoning of the three states of arising, ceasing, and abiding applies to all other things such as object and subject. In the ultimate realm of Dharma, there is nothing such as object and subject, large and small, edge and center, arising, ceasing, and abiding, but although these do not exist, there is no elaboration of Dharma in the ultimate, but the ultimate does not cease to exist because of this. The reason for this is different from the previous conventional. As long as there is one conventional Dharma, it must exist in some form of elaboration, but it does not exist.
