The thought may arise, "What is the reason for combining causes and so on separately?" To address this, it is said that although the nature of reality (dharmata) has no distinctions in essence, there is no contradiction in establishing conventional appearances as distinct dharmatas based on slight differences in aspects when establishing designations. The essence of the meaning is as follows: The single dharmadhatu is all-encompassing. When it appears as smoke, sentient beings, due to the delusion of ignorance, experience various appearances such as the earth element. Similarly, it can be applied analogously that when the nature of reality appears as bindus (thig le), sentient beings, not knowing their own nature and being deluded by ignorance, experience ordinary appearances, even up to the appearance of the space element. Therefore, the earth element is an appearance resulting from delusion regarding the smoke-like aspect of the nature of reality, while the space element is an appearance resulting from delusion regarding the bindu-like aspect of the nature of reality. Thus, the ten signs are established as the respective natures of reality of the earth element and so on. Here, by meditating on the path of gradual absorption and so forth, due to the cause of various ordinary delusions arising from the winds, and by slightly grasping the wind of the earth element from among the winds, the previous delusion of the earth element itself wrongly entering the smoke-like aspect of the nature of reality is diminished. Because the wind, which is the cause of the delusional appearance, slightly weakens, the delusional appearance of the earth element slightly diminishes, and one is able to see the smoke-like aspect among the various aspects of the nature of reality. Therefore, the smoke sign seen by the beginner in the yoga of gradual absorption is, in reality, an empty form that possesses all aspects, existing with the aspects of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana, existence and peace. However, because the yogi's consciousness initially enters, other aspects are not seen, and only the smoke aspect is seen. Similarly, this should be applied to all ten signs. Therefore, although these ten signs are the nature of reality or essence of all phenomena, it must be said that they are the essence of the channels, winds, and bindus because they depend on the special key points of action, binding, and object of focus. Due to striking the key points of the channels, winds, and bindus, which are of the nature of the five elements, they are seen.

will become. Because there is no way to strike other things at their vital points, it is explained as transforming into the special essence of the root-channels and bindus. It is introduced based on the nature of all dharmas, this is the third part of the introduction. The fourth part of the introduction. Introducing all dharmas as being integrated into emptiness-form. Furthermore, these signs such as du, etc., are the nature of all phenomena of container and contents, and are the essence of the channels and elements, and are the wisdom of the dharmadhatu, and are the nature of what is to be purified, and are the virtue of the alaya, and are all the ultimate deities and mantras, and are the ultimate Buddha. By meditating on this according to the outer order, all fields will be purified, and all sentient beings will be completely matured, and all the channels and bindus of the vajra body will be purified, and by meditating on this, all white dharmas will be meditated upon, and if the stains on this are purified, all obscurations will be purified, and if the meditation on this is completed, the meditation on all paths will be completed, and if stability is obtained on this emptiness-form and it is accomplished to the end, all yidam deities will be accomplished, and all mantra fruits will be accomplished, and all kinds of activities and siddhis will be obtained, and the qualities of the path such as the northern direction, and all the qualities of the result such as the ten powers are also naturally present in this, therefore by meditating on this, all of that will also become manifest. Seeing the ten signs is seeing the Tathagatagarbha, and the Tathagatagarbha or mind-nature, and the dharmadhatu, the ultimate truth, emptiness, suchness, and the ultimate limit are also called this which is free from elaboration and has all aspects. This is neither annihilationist emptiness nor inert emptiness, it is not characterized by negating non-existence. It is not that nothing is established and nothing is, that which is called dharmata, that kind of saying which is loud but has little meaning is not it. This is the true awareness that has arisen from the beginning in all aspects, it is not non-appearing, but self-aware and self-luminous, appearing as ten signs, experienced and manifestly established, this is the sign as mentioned above.
