It is to be known. Moreover, the first two stages are entering into mindfulness or practice because the uncommon characteristic of mindfulness itself is weak. The third stage is that mindfulness is truly pure, so it is considered that the main meaning is to grasp this. Regarding this, the bindu of bliss that melts as a support, like all mundane things, the more it becomes clear, the more it becomes harder, so the term "becoming viscous" is established. The more viscous and hard it becomes, the more difficult it is to melt with desire, and grasping, preventing, and pervading also become easier. For this reason, in relation to this stage of mindfulness, the first stage has more impurities, so it relies on karma mudra, in the middle it does not rely on it, but relies on jnana mudra, and finally it does not rely on those, but is satisfied with just the empty form body, thus it is established as three types. To generate complete bliss with just jnana mudra, one needs the clear appearance of finding the sign of tactile vision, and it is impossible not to obtain it when it arises on the path of the stages of mindfulness. Empty form and these two are the same only in appearing as clear appearances, but the empty form itself is even clearer. If the tactile union of the body is without and the same for both, then the jnana mudra can completely draw out the four joys, but what is the state where the empty form is not like that? Empty form is only the appearance of non-discrimination in all stages of practice and reality, but jnana mudra, although it is a real clear appearance, 4-492 also accompanies the thought of desire when the companion is present, and its own cause must also be produced by discrimination, so in general, being accompanied by the thought of desire can immediately induce melting bliss. Even if the thought of desire does not manifest, it can immediately generate melting bliss, which is only the realm of practice for a few supreme yogis. Therefore, it should be considered that for the intermediate faculties at this time, the thought of desire that induces bliss must also be manifested. So, if it is said that the completely pure bliss of the ten stages of desire is produced by signs such as smoke, is it also the same for karma and jnana mudras?

If you think that such a distinction is contradictory, it is not contradictory. Because here, the classification that arises in reliance on the mudra of karma and wisdom is necessary as a component or companion of the path. Because for these, too, the essence of the path, the great mudra of emptiness and form, is practiced. These are also the bliss generated by the great mudra. So, isn't it the most excellent that the great mudra generates bliss and at the same time becomes a companion? {Why do others [why karma] and wisdom abandon in sequence?} If you think, from these, the path that becomes the most excellent {that [is] obtained,} until it has not obtained extreme stability in it, those inferior paths will become the cause of distraction {from [of]} meditating on the excellent path, so in those stages it must be abandoned. That is also in terms of the real path, and it is not certain for augmentation and so on. In this regard, here, for all three post-attainment, also with the complete burning of tummo, the ultimate melting bliss completely generates the four joys. As the King of Tantras says: The wind, when truly encountered, with the tip of the lightning flame, melts the moon of the crown of the head. Wherever the drops melt, it reaches the throat, heart, navel, and secret place. From the drops, the moving semen resides in the vajra jewel, and whatever prevents it at the top of the victory banner. That is wisdom, is wisdom, an instant garland of drops, giving bliss by not moving. Thus it is said. What is called preventing at the top of the victory banner refers to a drop that has become the most clear from those residing on the forehead and crown due to melting. In this regard, melting from the crown is the first joy, melting from the forehead is the supreme joy, melting from the heart to the secret place is the special joy, and from then until the jewel is the coemergent joy. When it is stable below, it should also be known that it is the reverse. Similarly, in order to melt the essence of the sixteen elements, and the wisdom of the sixteen powers, and to accomplish the meaning of the sixteen bodies, sixteen joys are also spoken of. That is also, one distinction is divided into sixteen by distinguishing the reversal of the drops of body, speech, mind, and wisdom in the four joys. As it is said: Desire and joy, and trembling and immutability, the union of these four is one.
