There is a slightly vague understanding. When explaining distinctions, one must act as stated in the scriptures. If we establish sects and create new terms according to the personal experiences of ordinary people, that is the devil's disturbance. Furthermore, one must distinguish between thought and the nature of thought. The nature of thought is emptiness, it is non-thought, so it is not thought. The arising of thought itself is an illusion of appearing without being, so it is not the nature of thought itself either. It is not the nature of anyone else either. There is no essence other than appearance. For example, a magician casts a spell on a measuring cup, the audience sees it as a stupa. The nature of thought is like the measuring cup, the appearing thought itself is like the stupa. The measuring cup is made of wood, but the illusory stupa does not have to be made of wood. Even if the nature of thought is wisdom, since thought itself has no essence, thought cannot become wisdom. If thought is wisdom, then it becomes a thought that is wisdom. For example, because the measuring cup is made of wood, the illusory stupa is also made of wood, then there should be a wooden stupa next to the illusory stupa. 4-262 Therefore, experiencing a state of having nothing to rely on, a vanishing place that is empty, while the appearance of thought has not disappeared, this indicates that thought is merely the arising of an illusion, and has never existed from the beginning. When looking at the essence, it appears as if there is nothing, that is without continuity, without connection, unrelated, destroyed in an instant, is the characteristic of non-existence. Therefore, if one meditates with the key points of correct view, one can enter into subtle impermanence and selflessness, but it will not become the reason for the wisdom dharmakaya. If one cannot combine the key points of correct view, then the state of vanishing place and resembling nothing will become indeterminate. Also, simply naming emptiness as dharmakaya. If one thinks that this is explaining without distinguishing between appearance and nature, then it is fine to do so, but it has gone beyond the terminology of the scriptures and the way of reason. Furthermore, by looking at awareness, thought itself appears to be non-thought awareness.

It is like seeing the sky through the eyes of a peacock. Observing the intense conceptual thoughts, if one thinks that the appearance of the mind's emptiness and clarity is the arising of conceptual thoughts, it is like the wings of a bird moving after it has flown away. After the intense thoughts have ceased, the clear and empty mind is stained with the previous impurities. Because time passes quickly, one mistakenly thinks that the intense thoughts are in the clear and empty state, confusing the before and after as one. Therefore, even if there are some ways in which experiences manifest, if the way of introducing them is wrong, deviations will occur. So, it is also important that the introduction is not mistaken. Ultimately, the clear awareness that is not transformed by objects, this uninterrupted clear awareness is not the actual wisdom, but the alaya-vijnana (kun gzhi rnam shes). Because it and wisdom are similar in form, it is better to introduce wisdom in the form of an example rather than directly saying it is wisdom. The alaya-vijnana is also the obscuration of the wisdom, the sugata-garbha (bde gshegs snying po). In reality, it is like a person in a dream not seeing existing objects, but seeing non-existent dreams; like those deluded by illusion not seeing existing assemblies, but seeing non-existent illusions. However, if we temporarily establish it as it appears in the minds of ordinary people and noble scholars, then relative to a certain sentient being, the tathagatagarbha (de bzhin gshegs pa'i snying po) is the self-aware wisdom of ultimate meaning, covered by the alaya-vijnana of that sentient being. At this time, just as the scabbard of a sword resembles the shape of the sword, the alaya is also similar in form to the essence. Just as one does not directly show the sword, but can infer the shape of the sword by seeing the scabbard, one introduces the essence by inferring it from the clear awareness of the alaya. Here, the common introduction has been explained in detail, so please refer to it there. Although the alaya is the obscuration of the essence, if one grasps the key to the alaya, it will become the path to realizing the essence, just as grasping the clothes of a person wearing clothes can also grasp the person. In this context of the three isolations, if one is a long-term practitioner, this is how the sugata-garbha is introduced. If the sugata-garbha is introduced as the three isolations, then in the alaya,
