Therefore, in the tradition of our own school, this is famously known as the term "Three Seclusions." In the instruction manual, it says, "The actions of the three doors done in the past have become meaningless and inverted." The meaning of this is: all the actions of body, speech, and mind have not gone beyond the three: virtue, vice, and neutral. The sins committed by the three doors are not just meaningless, but inverted, becoming the only way for oneself to experience suffering. The neutral actions done have become mere wasting of life and meaningless. Even the virtuous actions done have become the cause of temporary happiness in samsara, but that happiness cannot last and decays, so in the end, it does not produce a fruit that can be relied upon. Time is wasted on small matters, and because there is no great meaning, it is called meaningless. In the past, for such an endless time, so much karma was done, but no result was produced. Therefore, no matter how much was done in the past, it will not produce a fruit that can be relied upon. Now, just abandon all the actions of body, speech, and mind as you please, which means to abide without thinking. In this stage of the Three Seclusions, there is no necessity to have the place of a dark room, the view, and the extraordinary restrictions. In the past, there was also a custom of assuming a posture that was just a common bodily posture in a place that was not a dark room, as appropriate. But at that time, that common bodily posture also had to be practiced until it was mastered. Moreover, when actually engaging in the main practice, discomfort arises at first because one is not accustomed to the dark room. The source of the previously mastered bodily posture is of no use here, and one must newly practice the bodily posture of the restrictions. Therefore, a situation arises where one deviates from the previous one. Therefore, from Kunpang Chenpo (ཀུན་སྤངས་ཆེན་པོ, the Great Renunciate) onwards, for the sake of the Three Seclusions, whatever the place and restrictions may be, it is acceptable. Because this is also acceptable, at this time, the dark room and the extraordinary restrictions, together with the common bodily posture, are mastered at this time. In the actual practice, there is no need for difficulty, and it is established by personal experience that the object becomes essential. The dark room and the view, etc., are no different from the actual practice. Therefore, these Three Seclusions, apart from the difference between the dark room and the strong restrictions, are famous in Tibet itself.

Mahamudra, Pacification, Dzogchen, Mind Division Cutting Field, Inconceivable, Samsara-Nirvana Undifferentiated, Primordial Purity Trekchö, etc., all the key points of these famous instructions are contained in this one alone. Up to Sordu 4-259 , it possesses many supremely high qualities that those instructions cannot compete with. From the words of the previous ones: The uncommon preliminaries of other instructions, here are done as common preliminaries. The main practices of others are done here as uncommon preliminaries. This is what is meant by that. So, is it just settling into non-conceptuality here? Some think that searching for the mind and controlling thoughts is better. But here, too, the guard of mindfulness is released. If it is desired to search for the mind, then if there is a time when it is needed, it is also in the parts of this Dharma, and not only is it there, but there is also extra. Once the effort of contemplation is made, searching for the mind is not so important either. Therefore, this Dharma has an infinite experience of thoroughly understanding selflessness and emptiness, which cuts off the wrong paths. However, as long as the root of the path is placed in the unconditioned, there is no need to search for the mind and hold onto thoughts, because both of these are fabricated. It cannot touch the original state of reality. The Great Brahmin also said: Place water and fire in self-illumination. For example, if a muddy water is left undisturbed, all the mud will naturally clear and become clear, and everything in the water will be clearly visible. At that time, there is no need to grope around and stir the water to find what is in the muddy water, but it can be seen directly. Similarly, when the mind is freed from conceptual thoughts and placed in immobility, the confusion of knowledge clears and becomes clear, and the way of abiding of awareness itself, its own form, will be clearly seen. At that moment, there is no need to stir the muddy water mixed with mind and conceptual thoughts with the hand of contemplation and mind-searching. The nature of the mind will be seen effortlessly. Again, now most people say that it is necessary to hold onto the {group} of mindfulness, but from the perspective of the alternating arising of afflictions and conceptual thoughts, it cuts off into the expanse. For those great meditators, mind

That's what they're saying. This is also applied in practice in all by-products, but it is not considered the ultimate practice. It is said that one must recognize one's own mind, and in a way that is without doing, self-knowing is merely non-conceptual. There is nothing to be surprised about in artificial recognition. If a pure mind-leading is done, everything will naturally arise. In short, some people, while muttering, "One does not attain Buddhahood through artificial Dharma," again focus their attention on artificial things such as pursuing, relying on memory, looking at one's own face, looking at greatness, and so on. This is really amazing! In particular, when the experience and skill of wisdom expand everywhere, and the gateways of all kinds of appearances are boundless, one must cultivate experience in a spontaneous way. If one bows one's head, presuming to be a guardian of memory, and holds one's breath, it will greatly hinder the experience and merit from appearing everywhere. There are many times when one needs to abandon the sentinel of memory. There are also some who say that one cannot determine that thoughts are the skill of meditation. Saraha said, "When thoughts disappear, wisdom also disappears, bad wisdom follows the turn of thoughts, from which good wisdom arises, nothing is greater than the sky." Therefore, he explicitly forbade it. The scriptures say, "Thoughts are great ignorance, the cause of falling into the ocean of samsara. If one abides in non-conceptual samadhi, one will become like the sky, without defilement." It is said that after thoughts have ceased, only awareness remains, and one experiences that thoughts cannot stay, and it seems that there is nothing. Therefore, thinking that mind is thoughts, thoughts are mind, and saying that thoughts are emptiness, emptiness is the Dharmakaya, is only recognizing a part of the characteristics of appearance and mind, and a one-sided understanding has arisen. It seems that they are just labeling things that are in accordance with that understanding. For example, it is like thinking that water and earth are the same because there is mud left after the water has receded; or when a house is collapsing, thinking that space is the house because the space is empty. This is related to a little experience.
