The supreme Brings happiness and rejoices in the happiness of sentient beings. Therefore, for the benefit of sentient beings, one should only Meditate on the state of no-self. As it is said. We rely on meaning, so here too we mention only this much. Furthermore, to befriend The virtuous spiritual friend, the venerable Lama, is like a close friend and relative in the world, or a good servant's respect for his master. With body, one reveres and serves. Offering fields, business, messengers, fighting enemies, and all other necessary tasks. With speech, one speaks pleasant words and praises and extols. One speaks from many avenues, such as debate and jest. In one's mind, one also hopes that one's own king, etc., if his power increases, his wealth increases, his life is prolonged, he conquers enemies, and something happens that is different from others, how wonderful it would be. In the way of working, one also tries to 4-228 see if one can bring other enemies under one's rule, and even tries to establish even a slight connection. One also generously offers food, wealth, etc., pays taxes, and even gives up one's body and life for their sake. Worldly people In order to achieve short-term goals of a few years or months, They can do so much for their friends and masters. But the Lama is a permanent relative, a friend, a master, a protector, and a refuge until enlightenment is attained. One's own happiness, well-being, and good name in this life, longevity, health, and wealth, All good things such as being respected are the kindness and blessings of the Lama. Furthermore, all the wisdom of hearing and thinking, the discipline of guarding vows, the ability to recite, blessings, and the activities of pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and wrathful actions that one possesses, are the kindness of the Lama. Ultimately, until enlightenment, all common and supreme accomplishments, and all happiness in this life and future lives, depend on the Lama. Since this is the case, one should dedicate all the above-mentioned actions of body, speech, and mind to the Lama. One should also think in this way. In short, one should even pray that the Lama's body, speech, and activities become more manifest. If one does so, one will not find fault, and whatever one does will be virtuous.

Constantly knowing, the determination to prevent hope and fear, and the mind of a friend; if these four thoughts on how to rely on a lama are complete, then there is no doubt that devotion will lead to the path. Secondly, in terms of action: with all the actions of body, speech, and mind, do everything that pleases the lama, which is summarized in abandoning everything that displeases the lama. Some people think that the lama is only a gateway to ask for instructions, and they think of asking for great accomplishments and blessings from a yidam or dakini who is better than the lama. In this way, all interdependent relationships are fundamentally wrong. How can accomplishments come? Therefore, intense and continuous devotion should be generated. Do not have wrong views even for a moment. If, due to karma, a sudden wrong view arises involuntarily, it should be immediately stopped with an antidote, cut off immediately, and not allowed to appear in the gestures of body and speech. In terms of speech, do not say a single word of slander or scolding, whether publicly or privately. Speak gentle, upright, honest, and consistent words. Ask the lama what he likes to hear, what you are convinced of, and tell him frankly and without concealment in clear language. Praise, extol, and praise the lama's virtues in every way. Everything the lama says must be taken as a standard. In terms of body, also prostrate and circumambulate. Do near and far service, and do all the necessary tasks, such as running errands and delivering messages. Even trivial matters such as pouring water and sweeping ashes are done. In terms of offerings, as it is said, "Offer the most excellent things," offer the best, cleanest, most precious, and cherished things. As it is said, "Whatever is slightly pleasing," offer what the lama needs and likes. In fact, whether good or bad, whatever the lama needs and likes is the best offering. If you cannot offer items that please and purify the lama, instead offer things that you do not need, inferior, low-quality, and worthless items. If it is barley or other grains, offer inferior grains mixed with sand, measure with the smallest container, but say there are many khals (units of volume). For items, always use the smallest amount, but exaggerate with the largest name and reputation. If it is horses, cattle, or other livestock, offer the weak, old, and sick. If it is clothing, then...
