Moreover, the Six Yogas of the Bu tradition are also mainly transmitted from Kunpang Chenpo. The writing of the instruction manual also seems to be based on the instruction manual of Kunpang Chenpo. Dharma Lord Lama Dampa Sonam Gyaltsen also, first heard it from Drakkhawa Drakpa Senge, a direct disciple of Kunpang Chenpo. Also, from Sonam Kunyal, a direct disciple of Kunpang Chenpo, and his disciples Sonam Chopal Sangpo and Sonam Sonam Gyaltsen, he received practical instructions. Later, he also received it from Buton Rinpoche. The writing of the instruction manual is mainly in the Sonam tradition, which is the teaching of Kunpang Chenpo. Also, the so-called Orgyen Practice is said to have appeared at the same time as Kunpang Chenpo, but it is the Dharma personally seen by Pungtra Orgyen 4-142 Pa Rinchen Palwa himself, and was not translated from India by the Lotsawa translators. The tradition of the Indian Pandit Nag Rin appeared later. Apart from that, all the oral instructions of the Six Yogas that appeared at other times and later, are as if they were all transmitted from Kunpang Chenpo, and he is the sole master of this Dharma. Therefore, although it seems to rely on the teachings of Kunpang Chenpo, some other lineages do not distinguish between common and uncommon preliminaries, but abbreviate the preliminary instructions into three, and there seems to be such a tradition. However, it is very important for beginners to tame their minds with preliminaries, so the Jonang tradition elaborately performs the preliminaries, and the common preliminaries themselves also involve five contemplations. When placing the object of refuge, at the end of a Dharma session, if there is no need to explain the meaning of refuge, then that is the end of it. If necessary, it is necessary to explain various appropriate and suitable meanings. That also indirectly shows that it is like this: In general, the so-called taking refuge refers to seeking protection. Taking refuge, the past tense appears, which means that the request for protection has been completed. If one has no fear and has obtained autonomy, then there is no need to seek refuge from anyone. Therefore, the one who seeks refuge is the one who has fear, and seeks refuge in order to be liberated from it, so the cause of taking refuge is being threatened by fear.

Yes. There are two types of refuge: worldly refuge and transcendental refuge. The first has two types: refuge taken only for this life and refuge that is presumed to be ultimate. The first of these is: 'People frightened by fear mostly go to mountains and forests, as well as gardens, stupas, and trees for refuge. That refuge is not primary, and relying on that refuge, one will not attain nirvana.' As it is said, like placing hope in a mountain fortress, one also seeks refuge in inanimate objects. One also seeks refuge in non-humans residing in mountains and deities, as well as local deities, earth lords, the eight classes of gods and demons, etc., belonging to minor gods or pretas, and trusting powerful and influential humans such as kings. These are the thoughts of foolish ordinary people whose minds have not been changed by sectarian views. This is refuge only for this life, with a very short-sighted view. The second is: focusing on worldly gods such as Vishnu, Shiva, Samkhya, and the great king of gods, as well as great worldly ascetics, and wrongly believing that those who are not pure protectors are ultimate protectors, seeking hope for both this life and future lives and liberation. This is the refuge of those who have become external to the Buddha's teachings, such as non-Buddhists. The second, transcendental refuge, also has two types: the refuge of the Lesser Vehicle Hearers and Solitary Realizers, with narrow thoughts and actions, and the refuge of the Great Vehicle, with broad thoughts and actions. Here, it is the Great Vehicle. Within that, there is also the common Sutra system and the uncommon Tantric system. Here, it is done according to the Tantric system. Furthermore, although the object of refuge is the transcendental Three Jewels, if the thought is only to obtain happiness in this life or future lives in samsara, then it has not gone beyond worldly refuge. However, because the object of focus is supreme, it plants a special ultimate habit, and the temporary benefits are also far greater than those of others. Those worldly refuge takers only have the name of refuge, but no real meaning.
