Each. Water, fire, and wind, the gate limits are two each. Doubling the length, each side has five surroundings of four cubits each. Adding the two sides together makes eight. Adding that to the length of the thread makes sixteen, which is said to be the purity of sixteen. Fifth, the commentary on the Tantra says that there are two types of threads, elaborate and non-elaborate. The first is measured by the number of fingers and half-fingers, making fine calculations, so it is a little difficult to understand. The latter measures the size of the parts and makes rough calculations, so it is easy to understand. There is no difference in the size, thickness, and thinness. The current thread method is also based on the non-elaborate one. Thus, in the empowerment chapter of the King of Abridged Tantras, it says, "The thread is six and ninety; give these parts of the directions completely from the thread of Brahma." From "the center of the gates of the sun, and the sky and the earth, the eastern part and the west also," there are six shlokas, which are the thirty-fifth verse of the empowerment chapter, etc. The great commentary at that time also says, "The beginning of the third summary of the empowerment chapter, at this time, westward on the ground of the previous mandala" to "the thread of the mandala should be erected," pressing the meaning of the Abridged Tantra, mainly explaining the elaborate thread. The Root Tantra says, "On the ground of equal squares, after dividing it into sixteen parts, the mandala of the body should be discarded. Again, divide it into sixteen parts, and the mandalas of speech, etc., should be made. Then, the mandala of speech, after discarding it, divide it into sixteen parts, and again the mandala of mind should be made. Thus, the three directions are all correct, and are the nature of the three mandalas. Then, with two and water, etc., those three mandalas should be threaded." Thus it is said. The Abridged Tantra also says, "Two and water treasure, one and water treasure, one sun time six top has, fire time half time half and. Time and time should be well distinguished and time and six also, faults of the parts in order with. Heart navel half and lotus petals also, then pillar vajra garland and. Lotus vajra garland to become, earth etc. and and then door and door know."

Beds and so on, pillars, fences, steps, etc., and then again felt, necklaces, land, etc., kinds of mirrors, stables, etc., are transformed by means of greatly praising people. All the doors etc. on the outside become doubled, and the outside is also double that. On the outside are lotuses, Dharma wheels, vehicles, etc., and mandalas are the sun. Thus, the non-elaborate lines are shown. Although it is okay to draw the lines separately for these two, it is necessary to determine that elaboration is for understanding, and then in practice draw the lines as if they were non-elaborate, which is the intention. Because the commentary says: "Those lines that need to be separated are not to be drawn." This is said, although it is in the general aspect, in the case of non-elaboration, it also implies that the aspect of not needing to be separated is better than the aspect of needing to be separated. Regarding the aspect of lines, the commentary says: "The gaps between the Buddhas and goddesses all become eight seats of vases or skulls." Thus, it is strongly forbidden to place vases and skulls in the squares of the four castes, as some people think. Sixth is what the commentary says: "Then offer incense etc., and carefully protect the lines needed for the mandala, and all the rest must be separated. All the doors must be thoroughly cleaned, and then again offer incense and flowers etc., offer the torma, and recite the mantra according to the previously mentioned ritual." This is said at the end of the second chapter of the abbreviated initiation sequence. Some people think that this is offering to the lines drawn on the ground, then erasing the line marks, cleaning the root lines at the door, and again offering tormas to the lines on the ground. The latter people think that it is offering tormas to the thread lines, etc. However, the aspect that corresponds to reality is: after drawing the lines, offer to the thread lines, and in order to prevent obstacles, clean the root lines at the door, offer tormas to the dakinis and sixty protectors, and recite the mantra according to the ritual of practicing Vajrabhairava. Second is: when drawing the colored powder mandala, say a little about what is needed. Examine the ritual of colored powder.
