Drawing lines and recording them is done to avoid confusing the remaining parts, only dry lines are drawn and no line offerings are made. Because work lines are drawn later, the later Tibetans made the mistake of considering drawing a work line only once as having two purposes in Lamaist rituals. How can this become the essence of practicing truthfully? This only strives to turn mistakes into correctness and clearly shows the confusion of considering what is not wrong as wrong. In all the mandala rituals of the Han Chinese tradition, lines are drawn only after the remaining parts. Moreover, this is not just the Ye line, because white lines must be drawn. Except for a very few extremely brief mandala rituals, there is no reason not to mention the work lines. Those that are not explicitly stated show the work lines and Ye lines together. Therefore, the rules of other mandala rituals are that the work lines are drawn first, and then blessed with the Ye lines; another is that the Ye lines are drawn first with intention, and then the work lines are drawn to divide its parts. But here there is no distinction between work lines and Ye lines, only the Vajra line. Therefore, there is no reason to require line offerings before the enthronement of the deity, and it is harmful, so do not cling to wrong views. Now, the essential prayer ritual here is only this: In the realm of space, visualize the specific object of prayer, that is, the complete Kalachakra mandala that originally exists, fully abiding. Visualize immeasurable Buddhas and Bodhisattvas pervading all places inside and outside, arrange vast offerings and bless them, and offer offerings and praises. For the sake of drawing the mandala of the three-line verse, it is merely the thought of praying and granting permission, and the offerings are better the more abundant. This is the direct instruction of the tantra commentary, so it is true and flawless, possessing all virtues, and without increase or decrease. The order of the direct instruction of the mandala ritual is: Later, when rituals are performed in Tibet, the arrangement should be beautiful and the wording of the recitation should not be too cumbersome.

Since it is in accordance with the meaning, this slightly embellished additional practice is also the oral instruction of the lineage of gurus. It is also good for combining the terminology of the deity ritual. Here, the preliminary of the additional abiding is the self-generation with recitation, as well as the smearing on the base of the mandala, drawing various lines, placing dots or clusters of good fragrance on the deity's seat, and preparing offerings and tormas. The main practice is cleansing and purification, instantly generating the mandala, and inviting the guests. Perform outer offerings, inner offerings, etc., and offer praise as appropriate. After the supplication, descend the hearing and offer the torma. The subsequent practice is blessing the offerings, offering praise and supplication, fulfilling deficiencies, repentance, sending the deities, aspirations, and auspiciousness. Among these, during the preliminary stage, there are three: applying fragrance, smearing, drawing lines, and clusters. During the main practice, there are three: cleansing and purification, inviting guests, and descending the hearing. The complete subsequent ritual, these are all additional supplements that are not explicitly stated in the tantras and commentaries. Offering the torma is not a branch of supplication, but since it is necessary to determine the day of additional abiding, it is not a type of additional supplement not mentioned in the tantras and commentaries. Second, among the additional abidings of the five substances, the first is the additional abiding of the vase, which involves examining five aspects: the material of the vase, the size of the vase, the number of vases, the determination of the contents, and the manner of the generation ritual. The first aspect is, as stated in the tantra: "Likewise, a crystal vase and silver, excellent in nature, possessing splendor, skull cups and iron, copper called and golden vase, extremely bright, definitely born from wood and the nature of earth." This means that for pacifying, use a crystal vase; for increasing, use silver; for subjugating, use a human skull cup; for expelling and separating, use iron; for magnetizing, use gold; 3-534 for attracting, use copper; for rigidity, use earth; for ignorance, use a wooden vase. Thus it is said. Empowerment and consecration are the same as all activities, that is, the size is the same as any of the three: pacifying, increasing, or magnetizing. The material can be any of the three: gold, silver, or crystal, which is excellent or a common method. If it is not found, a clay vase made of earth is also acceptable. Crystal and silver are naturally white.
