It also conformed to my wishes. Regarding this matter, from mid-summer onwards, I have been constantly urged to write it myself, with an urgency beyond imagination, so it is necessary to contemplate on oneself and others. On the seventeenth day of the tenth month of the Tibetan calendar, we went together to Nyari Gatsal to make offerings. The next day, we departed from the ferry of Ugyen Dzong. We stayed one night each in Rukma and Choru. We stayed three nights in Phuksum. On the twenty-third, we arrived in Jonang. At this time, the painting work of the monastery was mostly completed, and the consecration was performed immediately during the white month. Upon arrival, we explained the small golden Dharma of Niguma to Labrang Gagpa and others. They did not cherish it at that time. On the sixth, the Kalachakra initiation was also started. During the preliminary stage of the Six Yogas, the Six Dharmas of Niguma and others were also initiated. A tax was also levied on the monks of Phuksumpa. Previously, the monastic estate, which was drafted by Sorgen Nyen Tsenam and confirmed by the decree from the north, yielded about six hundred and a half measures of grain, depending on whether the year was good, bad, or average. In Jonang, in the past, the Dharma Lord and his sons had fixed annual offerings, but as the monastic estates gradually dwindled, even the Omniscient Great One only had annual offerings. Other aspects declined, and even some lamas left. At this time, that monastic estate was used for the offering expenses of the four fathers and sons. A monthly offering was established for the Omniscient Great One, and a grand annual offering was established for the emperor and his three sons. The Kalachakra Mandala, the object of devotion for those who came from afar, a stupa built by King Ashoka, the hand drum of Ra Lotsawa, the six ornaments of Maitripa, the staff of the accomplished Adar, various Chinese scriptures of Master Shantipa, Gyalwa Pal Yeshe, and Panchen Dawa Gonpo, and other blessed objects, were enshrined in the general property of Jonang for their long-lasting existence. Afterwards, a pearl tree, said to be the staff and table of Phagpa Rinpoche, was also placed in the temple. In the past, there were many blessed objects, but most of them have disappeared in the meantime, leaving only a few collections. During the two seven-day periods, before and after, we stayed in Shukpa Namgyang, and our virtuous practice increased, and we were very happy.
