The retinue is solely composed of Bodhisattvas (bodhi-sattva, beings on the path to enlightenment) of the ten Bhumis (Bhūmi, the ten stages of a Bodhisattva's path), as indicated above. The Dharma (dharma, the teachings of the Buddha) is the unceasing turning of the great wheel of Dharma (Dharma-cakra, the wheel of law). As stated in the *Ornament of the Sutras* (Mahāyāna-sūtrālaṃkāra): 'The great Bodhisattvas fully enjoy the Dharma.' Possessing knowledge of 'as it is' (yathāvad-jñāna, knowledge of reality as it is) and 'as many as there are' (yāvatā-jñāna, knowledge of all phenomena). Among these, 'as it is' refers to the purity of intrinsic nature (prakṛti-pariśuddha, the purity of the essential nature) and the purity of the apprehended and the apprehender (grāhya-grāhaka, object and subject) that is free from elaboration (prapañca, conceptual proliferation). As stated in the *Secret Accomplishment* (Guhyasiddhi): 'Emptiness (śūnyatā, the state of being empty) arises from wisdom, non-duality (advaya, the state of not being two) is supreme peace. Possessing all excellent aspects, it completely abandons the apprehended and the apprehender.' 'As many as there are' (yāvatā-jñāna, knowledge of all phenomena) is the wisdom that, in such a state, even in a single instant (kṣaṇa, a moment), knows the entirety of the knowable realms of the three times (past, present, and future). As stated in the *Ornament of the Sutras*: 'In a single instant of wisdom, it encompasses all knowable realms.' From the sound of Samputi, the limb of union is the continuous merging with the self-appearing consort (vidyā, wisdom) in which bliss (sukha, happiness) and emptiness (śūnyatā, the state of being empty) are inseparable. As stated in the *Precious Illumination of Suchness* (Tattvaratnālokā): 'Embraced and moving with a goddess like oneself, accomplishing meaning, is the nature free from the duality of pleasure and pain.' From the sound of Mahasukha, the limb of great bliss (mahāsukha, great bliss) is that this bliss is something that even all beings, such as ants, greatly desire. Being called 'great' is because it is extremely vast, without defilements, and exceedingly rich. As stated in the *Two Examinations* (Viniścaya-saṃgrahaṇī): 'Bliss is the cause and non-cause of all, bliss is wisdom, bliss is skillful means. Likewise, all arising bliss is called Vajrasattva (Vajrasattva, a bodhisattva in Vajrayana Buddhism).' From the sound of Nisvabhava, the limb of no self-nature (niḥsvabhāva, without inherent existence) is the emptiness of self-nature, such as one and many, understood as in the twelve similes of illusion. As stated in the *Perfection of Wisdom* (Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra, a genre of Mahayana Buddhist literature): 'Like a dream, like an illusion, and so forth.' As also stated in the *Two Examinations*: 'Self-nature is unborn from the beginning, neither true nor false, just like the moon in water, those who desire yoga (yoga, spiritual practices) do not understand.' From the sound of Pa, there are three limbs of compassion (mahākaruṇā, great compassion) that are definitely determined: compassion focused on beings, compassion focused on Dharma, and compassion without focus. The first is that all beings are experiencing the causes and results of suffering, therefore generating immense and unbearable great affection. As stated in the *Story of the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel* (Cintāmaṇi-kathā): 'Showing respect to beings, diligently striving.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'The one who wears armor is willing to dwell in the fires of hell for thousands of kalpas.' The compassion focused on Dharma, although in the ultimate truth, the object to be tamed, the tamer, and the method of taming are not established, in the conventional truth, all sentient beings are trapped in the net of dualistic grasping, and the mind is generated with the thought that these beings should quickly realize freedom from elaboration. In the 'Explanation of the Mind of Enlightenment': 'With a mind moistened by compassion, one should diligently meditate. The Buddha, the embodiment of great compassion, always meditates on the mind of enlightenment.' The compassion without object is that all phenomena encompassed by samsara and nirvana are realized as not established in any essence, and compassion arises in the state of non-objectification, and the great wisdom of the state of non-objectification are of one taste. As the 'Tantra of the Garland of Auspicious Wisdom' says: 'In the state of non-objectification, compassion, and the wisdom of the state of non-objectification, together with intelligence, become one, like space in space.' The sound of Niranta says: The uninterrupted limb is that in the state of the great Lord Vajradhara, he constantly dwells in Akanishta, and constantly possesses the three types of compassion, therefore, the emanations that tame according to the needs of those to be tamed are also hundreds of millions of billions, etc., without interruption. As it is said in 'Achievement of Wisdom': 'The body of the pervasive Lord Vajra, in the immutable is all.' The sound of Nirota says: The uninterrupted limb is that such a body sometimes dwells, sometimes does not dwell, or like dwelling for a while and then entering into peace, or like the Shravakas entering into peace, it is not like the cessation of compassion, but the limbs mentioned above, the union of skillful means and wisdom, are uninterrupted. As it is said in 'The Precious Light of Suchness': 'The nature of incomparable bliss, transformed into an auspicious place, without a place. The nature of the incomparable ten goddesses, complete with lineage and consort. Accomplishing benefit and happiness in the three realms, unchangeable. May the lotus hand that grants hope be victorious!' Thus it is known. Those perfect enjoyments, union, and the three limbs of great bliss are the limbs of the Sambhogakaya (Enjoyment Body). The absence of inherent existence is the limb of the Dharmakaya (Truth Body). The three: definite compassion, uninterruptedness, and non-cessation are the limbs of the Nirmanakaya (Emanation Body). All of these, being indivisible, should be understood as the very body of great bliss. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
