Without suffering, having attained the samadhi like a vajra, abiding in the realm of reality, from the abiding place, completely pacified, obtaining the Dharmakaya free from elaboration. Thus, the defiled transforms into the undefiled, yet in this realm, there is no movement whatsoever. Just as a great tree arises from a seed, when contemplating how these sentient beings thrive by relying on the seed of growth, becoming the refuge of the world including the gods, in order to completely purify their essence, one should speak the words of Dharma. Like a precious Buddha image inside tattered clothes, all beings possess the Tathagatagarbha (bde gshegs snying po, 如来藏). Seventh, how the Tathagatagarbha (bde gshegs snying po, 如来藏) resides in all beings like a precious Buddha image inside tattered clothes. Sons of the lineage, again, consider this example: Suppose a poor man possesses a Tathagata (de bzhin gshegs pa, 如来) image made of seven precious materials: mūsa-garbha (鼠胎宝), vaiḍūrya (青琉璃), silver, crystal, gold, red pearl, and the essence of stone, about the size of a palm. Then, this poor man, carrying the Tathagata (de bzhin gshegs pa, 如来) image, wishes to go and live in a very remote wilderness. To ensure that others do not notice the image and that thieves do not steal it, the man wraps the image in many pieces of dirty, foul-smelling rags and discards it. Afterward, the man lives in that wilderness, and no misfortune befalls him until his death. [His] Tathagata (de bzhin gshegs pa, 如来) image made of precious materials, wrapped in pieces of rags, also wanders back and forth on the path. Travelers on the road, unaware of the image, trample on the bundle of rags and scornfully say, 'This bundle, wrapped in dirty, foul-smelling rags, I wonder where the wind blew it from.' The gods dwelling in the wilderness, observing with their divine eyes, instruct other people, saying, 'O men, inside this bundle of rags is a Tathagata (de bzhin gshegs pa, 如来) image made of seven precious materials, worthy of worship by all the world. Open these rags!' Sons of the lineage, similarly, the Tathagata (de bzhin gshegs pa, 如来) sees all sentient beings bound by the entanglement of afflictions, becoming objects of scorn, wandering for a long time in the wilderness of samsara. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

O sons of good family, even those beings who have gone to the realm of animals are entangled by various afflictions, primarily attachment (藏文:བསྒོམ་སྤང་,梵文天城体: ध्यानत्याग,梵文罗马拟音:dhyānatyāga,English literal meaning: meditation and abandonment). But among these beings, I see the true body of the Tathagata, the Dharmakaya, endowed with qualities. O sons of good family, therefore, how does the Tathagata see the wisdom of the Tathagata in the hearts of beings? This wisdom is free from the obscurations of afflictions and is completely pure. How can beings become objects of reverence for all beings in the world, just like me now? In order to liberate beings from the entanglement of afflictions, Bodhisattvas will preach the Dharma to them. At that time, the Blessed One spoke these verses: Just like the image of the Tathagata made of precious jewels, wrapped in dirty and disgusting cloths, is abandoned on a deserted road. The gods saw this Buddha image with their divine eyes and said to others: 'This cloth is wrapped with the image of the Tathagata made of precious jewels, quickly open this cloth!' Similarly, my Buddha-eye can see the Buddha-nature in the hearts of beings, but these beings are entangled by afflictions, suffering greatly, and constantly tormented by the suffering of samsara. I see that in the hearts of beings entangled by afflictions, the Dharmakaya of the Buddha is constant and unchanging, and the Buddha-nature is firm and unwavering. However, I do not see any way to liberate beings from defilements. After observing in this way, I exhorted beings: 'Those who have entered the path of supreme Bodhi, please listen! The Dharma nature and self-nature of beings should be observed in this way: In the hearts of beings, the Tathagata is entangled by defilements.' When the Tathagata is liberated from the bondage of afflictions by wisdom, when all afflictions are pacified, beings will obtain the name 'Buddhahood'. When beings attain Buddhahood, gods and people with faith will rejoice. Like a woman giving birth to a noble prince. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
