Some say that the 'definitive meaning' taught by the Buddha is considered provisional, while the Mind-Only teaching of the Third Turning of the Wheel is considered definitive, therefore this sutra is provisional. Those who say this, let alone understand the meaning of this sutra, I am afraid that even the meaning of the title of this sutra, and the meaning of this chapter and the name of this Bodhisattva are difficult to understand. Clearly, the sutra says 'Profound Meaning Explanation', 'Explanation of the Definitive Meaning of Ultimate Truth', and 'Chapter of Ultimate Truthful Noble Ones', yet they still consider it provisional. If this sutra is provisional, then even the noble Asanga would be confused about the provisional and definitive meanings of the sutra, because in the Samgrahavastu (Compendium of Determinations), when establishing the characteristics of the Three Turnings of the Wheel, he considered only this sutra to be reasonable, and did not cite other scriptures. But this is impossible, because the Bhagavan (Bhagavan, the Blessed One) prophesied: 'The provisional and definitive meanings of the sutras, various differences are well distinguished.' Some say that although the noble Asanga knew, he taught Mind-Only in the Samgrahavastu and other treatises in order to accommodate his younger brother Vasubandhu, therefore what is said in the Samgrahavastu is also provisional. This is just a rumor. This kind of rumor is untenable in reasoning, because the teacher Vasubandhu is praised as 'Second Buddha', and it is said that Maitreya Bodhisattva personally accepted him, he is proficient in five hundred sutras, how could he need to be guided by Mind-Only? Moreover, it is unreasonable for the noble Asanga to disregard the many sentient beings of the future just for the sake of one younger brother. Furthermore, if this sutra is provisional, then in the Great Compassion Sutra of the Tathagata, it says: 'Good son, just like a skilled gem craftsman who knows well the method of refining gems, he takes a piece of precious gem that is not yet completely pure from various gems, first soaks it in light salt water, and then carefully brushes it with a hair brush to purify it. But he does not stop there, then he soaks it in the juice of food, and then carefully wipes it with cotton cloth to make it more pure. But he still does not stop, and finally he has to soak it in medicinal juice, and then carefully wipes it with fine linen to make it completely pure. After such fine refining, completely removing impurities, it can be called the best lapis lazuli. Good son, the Tathagata is also like this, knowing the realm of sentient beings that is not yet completely pure, he uses impermanence, suffering, selflessness, impurity, etc. to make people disgusted.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thus, he caused beings who delight in samsara to generate renunciation and introduced them into the Dharma Vinaya of the Noble Ones. Not only that, but the Tathagata did not abandon diligence. Subsequently, with words of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, he caused people to realize the nature of the Tathagata. Not only that, but the Tathagata did not abandon diligence. Subsequently, with words of the irreversible wheel of Dharma, words of the three-fold purification, he caused those beings with various natures to enter the realm of the Tathagata. Once entered and realized the Dharma nature of the Tathagata, it is said to be the supreme place of merit. Is this statement, which is consistent with the previous one, provisional? If these two statements are provisional, then other statements that distinguish the provisional and definitive meanings of the three wheels of Dharma should appear. If there are no statements, but the final wheel is regarded as provisional, then it is too self-made and becomes a fault even greater than the Thubpa (Buddha). We have not seen other statements that separate the provisional and definitive meanings of the three wheels translated into Tibetan. If you have seen them, please show them. If someone says that there are commentaries explaining that these statements are not definitive, but were spoken by the teacher Dharmamitra, then Dharmamitra is also very amazing! Is he superior to or equal to the Buddha and the Noble Asanga? Please think carefully before speaking. When using statements as a measure, it should be remembered that the speaker of the statement must be one who has exhausted faults. Furthermore, some wonder why the intermediate wheel, while teaching about the absence of inherent existence and so on, is said to be provisional. Because the intermediate and final wheels both express similar content, it is not said to be provisional in terms of what is expressed, but because it is not well distinguished, it should be understood as being spoken provisionally in terms of the manner of expression. In that case, the third wheel has the characteristic of being well distinguished, and at the time of the unsurpassed, it has not become a place for arguing about the meaning of निश्चित (Skt. niścita, Tib. ངེས་པ, Romanization: niscita, meaning: certain, definite), and the sutra also mentions 'the irreversible wheel of Dharma'. The Noble Asanga, that supreme being prophesied by the Victorious One, also cited the final wheel as a sutra that explains the definitive meaning, and it is also commonly known among the early Tibetan scholars that the final wheel is the wheel of Dharma of ultimate truth. Abandoning these, and considering the final wheel to be provisional, is truly a foolish thief! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
