From 'May these melodious clouds of praise constantly arise,' the offering in this context can be identified. In the *Śikṣāsamuccaya* (Compendium of Trainings), when identifying the offering among the seven branches, the *Ārya-Ratnamegha-sūtra* (Noble Jewel Cloud Sutra) is cited, and the offering of external objects is regarded as the offering itself. Although this text does not explain the offering branch, it fully explains the seven branches. In connection with the rejoicing branch, it explains the branch of taking on the sins and sufferings of others, and it is explained as a virtue to be dedicated to great enlightenment. This explanation is consistent with the *Bodhicaryāvatāra* (Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life). In that text, between the supplication not to pass into nirvana and the branch of generating the mind of great enlightenment, there is this description: 'May it eliminate all the sufferings of all sentient beings,' and 'May I become the basis of sustenance,' thus making aspirations for the benefit of others. This is not the seventh branch of dedication. The Essence of the Text: Explaining the Three Branches Done for One's Own Benefit. Second, regarding the meaning of the text, it is divided into two parts: explaining the three branches done for one's own benefit, and explaining the two branches done for the benefit of others. The first part has three branches: the prostration branch as an antidote to not believing in special objects; the confession branch as an antidote to not having selflessness in the place of what to accept and reject; and the rejoicing branch as an antidote to being jealous of the virtues of others. The first part has three points: prostrating to the Buddha who teaches, prostrating to the sacred Dharma he taught, and prostrating to the Sangha who practice that Dharma. The first point is: Prostration! To whom should it be done? To the Sugatas (Those Gone to Bliss). The word 'those' indicates many, but is it done to those who can grasp the quantity? No, it is the specificity of the object, that is, prostrating to all those who dwell in all ten directions, and the specificity of time, that is, those who have come in the past, present, and future, and those who will come. Here, it is in accordance with 'All the lions among men who have gone to the three times in all the ten directions,' etc. Therefore, by whom it is done, and how it is done, these two ways are actually established. Among them, mental joy is remembering the qualities, verbal joy is the sweet speech of expressing those qualities, and bodily joy is... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
