The special feature is that it possesses a mind consistent with the desire to pursue altruism and perfect Bodhi (Enlightenment). As it is said: 'The aspiration of the steadfast is a mind with intention.' And 'Great joy and great diligence, great benefit and great source, the Bodhisattva's Bodhisattva, produces a mind with two benefits.' Here, the actual object is perfect Bodhi, which is called self-interest; while the object to be pursued is altruism, which is divided into two: accomplishing the ultimate body of altruism after becoming a Buddha, and engaging in altruistic activities as the cause of becoming a Buddha. Here, making aspirations to learn the ten Paramitas (perfections) and their causes refers to striving for altruism as the cause of becoming a Buddha before becoming a Buddha. Because after becoming a Buddha, there is no need to learn the ten Paramitas. 'Seventy Verses' refers to the number of Shlokas (verses), and 'Verses' refers to being in the form of verses. 'Named' refers to the meaning that this is the name of this treatise. Secondly, paying homage to Samantabhadra (ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོ་, सर्वभद्र, Sarvabhadra, All Good) Bodhisattva. Although in the ultimate sense he is a Buddha, he always maintains the appearance of a son of the Buddhas for the sake of others. His deeds are no different from those of a Buddha, as stated in the Sutras. Therefore, the translators praised him in accordance with the subject matter of the treatise, as it is said: 'The eldest son of all the Buddhas, whose name is Samantabhadra. In order to act like the wise, dedicate all these merits.' Generally, Samantabhadra is one of the names of the Buddha, and to distinguish it, the title Bodhisattva is added. The content of the text is to generate the supreme Bodhicitta (བྱང་ཆུབ་ཀྱི་སེམས་, बोधिचित्त, Bodhicitta, mind of enlightenment) and vow to learn its precepts. The third part is the content of the text, divided into two parts: generating the supreme Bodhicitta and vowing to learn its precepts; and aspiring to share the merit of writing this treatise with all other sentient beings. The first part is divided into two parts: generating the great Bodhicitta; and learning its causes and aspiring to attain the body that perfectly benefits others. The first part is divided into two parts: accumulating the accumulation of merit; and dedicating the accumulated accumulation to great Bodhi. The first part is divided into two parts: analyzing the end; and exploring the meaning of the text itself. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Generating the vast Bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment), accumulating the collection of merit, and finally analyzing. Firstly, in general, the dedication to the vast Bodhi, including the cause, etc., is widely known as the seven-branch offering. As it is said in the scriptures: 'I prostrate, offer, and confess; rejoice, urge, and beseech; whatever small virtue I have accumulated, I dedicate all of it for the sake of the vast Bodhi.' Furthermore, in many scriptures such as the 'Samantabhadra's Prayer of Good Conduct,' the 'Compendium of Trainings,' the 'Entering the Bodhisattva's Way of Life,' and the 'Ritual for Taking a Yidam,' the branch of offering is placed between the branch of prostration and the branch of confession, thus explaining the seven branches as complete. As it is said in the 'Maitreya's Prayer': 'I prostrate to the Bodhicitta; being under the control of the mind, whatever sins I have committed...' etc. In the 'Sutra of the Three Aggregates,' the prostration and confession are combined into one aggregate, and the aggregate of rejoicing and the aggregate of requesting the Buddhas are explained, totaling three aggregates, without explaining the offering branch. However, the other six branches are fully explained there, as it is said in the scriptures: 'I urge and beseech all the Buddhas, may I attain the supreme of unsurpassed wisdom.' Here, the other three branches are complete. Thus, Acharya Shantideva said: 'Among them, the three aggregates are confession, rejoicing in merit, and urging the Buddhas, because they are aggregates of merit. Prostration is included in confession, because after prostrating to the Buddhas, one confesses. Beseeching and urging have the same meaning. Offering is not mentioned because there is no associated practice. Offerings of mind and speech are not mentioned because they are well-known in other sutras.' This is what is said in the 'Compendium of Trainings.' Similarly, in this treatise, the offering branch is not seen to be explained between the prostration branch and the confession branch. In general, generating Bodhicitta and listening to the Dharma, etc., have been proclaimed in various ways in many sutras as the unsurpassed offering to the Tathagatas. Here, considering it as a part of the seven-branch offering, it must be explained as an external offering. As the 'Entering the Way of Life' says: 'All the flowers and fruits that exist...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
