此处‘khu ‘jo ba’i’和‘khul lji’是错字。

The characteristic (mshan nyid pa) is solely the Buddha-ground, because there, not even a particle of the dust of consciousness is perceived. In short, the latter four pāramitās are included in the prajñā-pāramitā (perfection of wisdom), and wisdom itself is divided into four from the perspective of its performing four different functions. As stated in the Madhyāntavibhāga (Distinguishing the Middle from the Extremes): 'Inexhaustible and constantly engaging, decisive and ripening enjoyment.' Through skillful means, dedicating virtues such as generosity to bodhi makes them inexhaustible. Through the condition of aspiration, wishing for the fulfillment of the four wheels, one constantly engages in generosity and so forth. By overpowering opposing forces with strength, one decisively engages in generosity and so forth. By not being deluded about the nature of wisdom, one enjoys generosity and so forth, and ripens sentient beings. Thus, having generated the mind of bodhi, vowing to properly train in the ten pāramitās demonstrates the way to accomplish the aspiration completely. The essence of aspiration is the wish that at the time of becoming a Buddha, the benefit of others will spontaneously arise continuously. And its cause is training in the pāramitās. Training in the cause for only those sentient beings whose minds are fully ripened to appear in that retinue. Second, regarding vowing to ripen sentient beings, there are two aspects: cultivating the four immeasurables with thought, and accomplishing the four objects of gathering with action. First, regarding the four immeasurables: The wish to love like a father: Just as fathers in the world especially cherish their only child, from the perspective of thought, abandoning all faults of harming others, and from the perspective of action, constantly, towards all sentient beings, cultivating loving-kindness, that is, abiding with the attitude of wishing them to encounter happiness. The wish to cherish like a mother: When a mother in the world, her own child is sick, from the perspective of thought, arises compassion, that is, with the thought of wishing them to be free from suffering, from the perspective of action, attending to them in accordance with many {khu ljong} (Tibetan) ways. Likewise, may I, who have generated the mind of bodhi, towards all sentient beings, from the perspective of thought, transform compassion into a hundred times greater than comparison, may I do so for each sentient being. Here, ‘khu ‘jo ba’i’ and ‘khul lji’ are misspellings. The wish to rejoice like one rejoices for an only child: Having seen the prosperity of others' happiness, from the perspective of thought, generating great joy, that is, generating many thoughts of not wanting to be separated from that happiness, thus... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

May those who cultivate loving-kindness always abide in it. For example, just as worldly parents, when happy with their only child, develop a mind that does not separate from that happiness. Fourth, like teaching one's own child to do things, vowing to abide in equanimity: May it benefit all sentient beings, abandoning attachment to the cause of happiness for friends and anger towards the cause of suffering for enemies, accomplishing the benefit of all three realms. For example, just as good worldly parents help their children accomplish things in accordance with the Dharma. Moreover, the feeling of happiness leads to attachment, and the feeling of suffering leads to anger. Therefore, may all sentient beings abide in equanimity, free from all disputes and desires. The three feelings of happiness, suffering, and equanimity in this context can be divided into two types: conventional truth and ultimate truth, depending on whether they are based on the worldly or the transcendental. Second, defining the criteria for the Bodhisattva's Four Immeasurables: The Ornament of the Sutras states: 'Stable Brahma-viharas, abandoning discord, possessing non-discriminating wisdom, engaging in three objects, completely maturing sentient beings.' It is explained as having these four characteristics. The characteristics of the three objects are: It says in the same text: 'Engaging thoroughly with those afflicted by afflictions, with treatises on them, and with the suchness of them.' Its meaning is: For sentient beings who desire to attain pleasure, desire to be free from suffering, desire not to be separated from happiness, and are afflicted by desire and hatred, this is the object of the four immeasurables such as loving-kindness that focuses on sentient beings; for the aggregates and other dharmas that serve as the basis for the imputation of sentient beings, this is the object of the four immeasurables such as loving-kindness that focuses on dharmas; for the nature of sentient beings, this is the object of the four immeasurables such as loving-kindness that focuses on the absence of an object. Because it does not discriminate between persons and dharmas, it is called without an object. However, for those sentient beings who have not realized this, they desire to be free from suffering and attain happiness, and therefore the names of compassion and so forth that are without an object are given. The common function of these four is: As it is said in the sutras: 'The wise who abide in the Brahma-viharas constantly generate joy. Therefore, they perfect the accumulations and also mature sentient beings.' Always pure... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
