This is the cause for the perfect accomplishment of activities. The Pāramitā practitioners explain the cause of activities as the union of skillful means. This skillful means is the indispensable cause for the ultimate accomplishment of the two bodies (Rūpakāya and Dharmakāya) for the benefit of others. Without this, even Bodhisattvas who have attained the forbearance of non-arising dharmas may prematurely manifest before the time of true realization, and thus risk falling into the extreme of annihilation. Considering this point, it is said in the *Entering the Middle Way*: 'What is distant enters in an instant, and what is instant enters into cessation; the Pāramitā of skillful means, blazing and radiant, can also be attained.' As explained, it becomes easy to understand the six aspects of the Pāramitā of skillful means: essence, cause, result, activity, possession, and entry. However, since the lesser vehicle practitioners lack this, the supreme skillful means of Bodhisattvas is not taught. Eighth, vowing the Aspiration Pāramitā; ninth, vowing the Power Pāramitā. Eighth, the vow of the Aspiration Pāramitā: We vow to attain the Aspiration Pāramitā. The time is continuous. The manner is as the aspirations of the Buddhas in the past, planting the seeds of benefit for sentient beings in whatever way, we will act accordingly. The recognition of the essence, cause, result, etc., of the Aspiration Pāramitā has already been explained in the previous section on necessity. Ninth, the vow of the Power Pāramitā: In meditative equipoise, the actions of the inner mind are not shaken by opposing forces; in the post-meditative state, we will abide solely for the benefit of all beings on earth. How is it unshaken? The assembly of external enemies, all the unbearable and malicious ones, we will immediately subdue them effortlessly. Here, the essence of power is that it cannot be overcome by opposing forces, hence it is called power. This power is divided into the power of skillful means and the power of wisdom. Both of these are gathered into the power of faith, the power of diligence, the power of concentration, and the power of wisdom. The boundary of first attaining this power is from the Acceptance of Discernment, as it is said in the *Letter to a Friend*: 'Faith, diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom are the five supreme qualities; strive diligently in these.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These are said to be the pinnacle of power. The Ornament of the Sutras states: 'The weakening of opposing forces is called power for them.' Tenth, the vow of the Perfection of Wisdom. Tenth, the vow of the Perfection of Wisdom is: Having abandoned the nets of conceptualization in meditative equipoise, may I only benefit the three realms in the post-meditative state. What antidote abandons them? These outer and inner dharmas, although appearing in the face of delusion as illusion, mirage, and emanation, may I manifest the wisdom that truly realizes they are not true as they appear. Obtaining mastery over the Perfection of Wisdom is said to be equal to the Buddhas in the way of benefiting others. The Mother Sutra states: 'The tenth bhumi is said to be the Thus-Gone One.' The Uttaratantra states: 'This conduct of the Bodhisattva, in the post-meditative state, is equal to the Thus-Gone Ones in the world in truly liberating sentient beings.' In general, obtaining mastery over wisdom depends on obtaining the transformation of the basis of consciousness. And consciousness is the eight consciousnesses with their retinues. Regarding their transformation, there are two types: temporary and ultimate. The first is also present in the inferior nirvana with remainder. The Ornament of the Sutras states: 'Because the seed has transformed, the meaning of the body appears as the transformed, stainless realm, which is the basis that goes to all.' Therefore, it is taught as the basis of all three vehicles. Even so, it is not the manifestation of mirror-like wisdom, because the obscuration of knowledge has not been abandoned. Although that is the case, whatever consciousness exists in the realm with remainder is only wisdom, and there is not even a little bit of the aspect of consciousness. If we assume that the inferior path has not been traversed, then the transformation of the alaya consciousness is only possible for the Buddhas. The transformation of the other seven aggregates is from the eighth bhumi onwards. As it says: 'As it is said, because mind and grasping and discrimination have transformed, therefore non-discrimination and pure land and wisdom, have four powers.' That power is the four on the three bhumis, such as the Immovable. Even so, the knowledge that equality wisdom and so forth have not been manifested is similar to the previous one. In detail, these temporary states are called transformation, but not transformation of the basis.
