The first verse indicates reliance on holy individuals; the second verse indicates that 'good wishes' are for pursuing the sacred Dharma; the third verse indicates that merit has been accumulated in the past, because without accumulating merit, there would be no superior lineage and appearance; the fourth verse indicates residing in a harmonious place, because the ability to benefit others only arises in places where there are beings who can be tamed, and not elsewhere. Thus, the aspiration for Bodhicitta and how to uphold its vows have been explained. Now, begin to study the precepts of entering the Bodhisattva path, vowing to study the three aspects of cause, perfection, maturation, and purification. Secondly, after vowing to study the precepts of entering the Bodhisattva path, how to study these contents is divided into two parts: vowing to study the three aspects of cause, perfection, maturation, and purification, and studying the standard of having already completed the three aspects of result, perfection, maturation, and purification. The first part is divided into three aspects: aspiring to the cause of accomplishing the Rupakaya (form body), learning the cause of only those beings who can be tamed by this body becoming its retinue, and learning the cause of purifying the pure land where this body manifests. Aspiring to the cause of accomplishing the Rupakaya, first generally explaining the main points. The first part is divided into two aspects: generally explaining the main points and separately explaining the content of the text. First, if so, then it is difficult for beginners to understand the great conduct of Bodhisattvas, and it is also difficult to understand its opposite aspects, so what should be done? Regarding this question, one should know the way to study the ten Paramitas (perfections), and vow to study them. By studying, one will be able to uphold the vast Bodhisattva vows and be able to prevent all aspects that are incompatible with them. The Compendium of Trainings says: 'How should one like me, with poor intelligence, understand the Bodhisattva vows? One should understand the key points that will not cause one to fall. I give my body, possessions, and the merits born in the three times to all sentient beings, and I guard and increase purity.' This is the concise content of the Bodhisattva vows. Its meaning is: giving the three things, guarding these three things, and increasing these three things. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It means to purify and increase the three. Among them, 'giving' means dedicating the three to sentient beings; 'protecting' means not wasting the three; 'purifying' means keeping the three from being mixed with sins; 'increasing' means using various methods to make the three grow more and more. All of these are included in the practice of the Six Paramitas. Next, each part of the content will be explained separately. The first is the commitment to the Dana Paramita (Perfection of Giving). (Second part) The content of each part is divided into ten aspects. The first is the commitment to the Dana Paramita, which is divided into two parts: grasping the main points of this text and supplementing the definition of Bodhisattva's giving. The first part is further divided into two parts: separately praying for the giving of wealth and vowing to summarize all giving. The first part is further divided into two parts: vowing to give away enjoyment and to give away the body. The first part is: May I be able to fully accept and enjoy, for the sake of generating Bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment), all my possessions, just like others take their own possessions, without the slightest hesitation. The second part is divided into two parts: giving away flesh and blood: If I, a Bodhisattva, am asked for my flesh and blood, may I give it away with joy and a smiling gaze. The second part is vowing to give away bones, etc.: May my hands, feet, etc., always be given away for the benefit of sentient beings. The second part is: May I, a Bodhisattva, be like a wish-fulfilling jewel, able to fulfill all the wishes of all beings, accomplish all that is needed, such as fearless protection; may I be like a wish-fulfilling tree, able to fulfill all expectations for the Dharma. As it is said in the 'Bodhisattva Pratimoksha Sutra': 'Shariputra, a Bodhisattva does not have these four faults. What are the four? A Bodhisattva has no hypocrisy, no stinginess, no jealousy, and no slander.' Second, defining giving, divided into two parts: jointly defining the giving of the Three Vehicles, and demonstrating the superiority of Bodhisattva's giving. The first part is: In the Ornament of Realization it says: 'Giving up all things, relying on the fundamental mind, as well as the body and perfect enjoyment, both follow and are perfected, and are endowed with a non-miserly mind,' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
