After destroying, may all beings in the three realms attain the eleventh stage of the great Dharma kingship. As it is said, 'Strive to perfect enlightenment and attain Buddhahood in stages.' That is its meaning. The second is to supplicate. To whom? To the perfectly enlightened Buddhas who have just attained Buddhahood under the Bodhi tree. They appear to be sitting silently under the tree for seven weeks, without teaching the Dharma and without being with their retinue. For what purpose? To shower the rain of nectar upon beings. And what is that like? Because it cannot be openly shown to others, nor can it be expressed through symbols and metaphors, it is said to be 'the unparalleled Dharma,' which is different from the nectar of worldly deities. As the Extensive Play Sutra says, 'I have attained a Dharma that is profound, peaceful, free from elaboration, luminous, unconditioned, and like nectar. But no matter to whom I show it, they cannot understand, so I will go alone to the forest and not speak.' The term 'self-enlightened Buddha' that appears in this scripture is clearly incorrect, because there is no reliable scripture that says a self-enlightened Buddha will turn the wheel of Dharma, and there is no teaching that a self-enlightened Buddha must attain enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. Therefore, it is better to change it to 'perfectly enlightened Buddhas who have attained Buddhahood under the Bodhi tree.' Or, as it is said, 'He quickly goes to the Bodhi tree, stays there to benefit beings, and attains enlightenment.' Here, too, it can be said, 'Having sat silently under the Bodhi tree for many days and nights, then supplicate the perfectly enlightened Buddhas.' The second is to supplicate those who have perfected the twelve deeds of benefiting others and wish to enter the supreme state of nirvana without remainder. As it is said, 'For the sake of benefiting others, please remain in the world for a long time, until the end of time.' If we supplicate in this way, they will also remain as we have supplicated, because they have a kind heart to benefit others. So, after remaining for a long time, how will they benefit others? For those beings who wander in the three realms, which are like a dense forest, shrouded in the darkness of ignorance, they will treat them like guests.
