If there is nothing to be grasped, then there is no act of grasping. Through the logic of one and many, it is well established that what is grasped is not truly existent. Therefore, the state of emptiness of the duality of grasping and being grasped needs to be explained in the intermediate state. You ultimately explain that non-dual wisdom is the suchness (tathātā, Devanagari: तथाता, Roman: tathātā, meaning: thusness) of all Dharmas, the unchanging perfected nature (pariniṣpanna, Devanagari: परिनिष्पन्न, Roman: pariniṣpanna, meaning: completely accomplished), the ultimate reality, the Dharmadhatu (dharmadhātu, Devanagari: धर्मधातु, Roman: dharmadhātu, meaning: the realm of Dharma), and the ultimate truth (paramārtha, Devanagari: परमार्थ, Roman: paramārtha, meaning: supreme object). Through the second method and the reasoning that proves self-awareness, if it can be established that external appearances are with aspects, even if the direct perception of external objects is not accepted, it can be proven through reasoning that all consciousness that looks outward is self-awareness. You explained the root of the tenets of the Sautrāntika (Sautrāntika, Devanagari: सौत्रान्तिक, Roman: Sautrāntika, meaning: those who uphold the sutras) school. Stating that external objects are negated through habits, consciousness, and the non-apprehension of what is capable of appearing, and explaining that the appearance of grasping at external objects also does not have substance. This is stated as the root of the tenets of the Vijñānavāda (Vijñānavāda, Devanagari: विज्ञानवाद, Roman: Vijñānavāda, meaning: the doctrine of consciousness-only) school. Therefore, in order to truly convey the views of the two selflessnesses to others, it is necessary to explain in the chapter for the benefit of others how to eliminate faults in debate and establish statements of correct view. By showing the three-aspect reasoning as the path of valid cognition, without directly stating the point to be proven, but clearly stating the reason, thereby generating understanding of the thesis through inference, this is the statement of establishing the correct view. Through arguments where one's own side's fault is established or not established, and through a series of cognitions established step by step to prove that point again, ultimately not arriving at any established conclusion, this is not your view. Those opponents who establish self-continuum, even without pointing out any flaws in the reason, merely expressing a commitment verbally, this method of argumentation is contrary to your view. Using another's commitment as a reason, the reason, property, and connection must be established through valid cognition. If any property of pervasion is negated by valid cognition, then this is a fault-proving inference that possesses three aspects. If the reason is not committed to, then it is merely a pervasive property. Even if it is committed to, it cannot become a fault-proving inference. Merely a commitment that contradicts reality is sufficient to mutually obstruct, this is what you have explained. When refuting another's view, without considering how to establish correct view and eliminate wrong view through reasoning, merely piling up contradictory commitments is taken as the standard of victory or defeat, this is contrary to your view. It is now commonly said that what cannot be proven by reason is the fault of what needs to be proven. You explained that the definitions of reason and what needs to be proven must be clear separately. If the commitment is correct, then it is said that the speaker's valid cognition has established the object of attachment. The thing to be proven and the commitment... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding the meaning of attachment, they say there is no clear establishment and inference is necessary. Whatever reasoning negates the 'unapprehended reason', everyone here says that is a 'negating reason'. You, the skilled speaker, say that 'manifest apprehensible unapprehended' is the main establishing reason. Those known as great ones, who composed the seven treatises including the *Abhisamayalankara*, explain it as a treatise of the 'Svabhavasunyata school'. Although they think that the treatises of Nagarjuna and Asanga have no contradictions, the Madhyamaka that accords with Prasangika and Svatantrika, and agrees with the scriptures, does not appear in those great treatises. Therefore, this method should not be sought in the Yogacara Madhyamaka school. Furthermore, in the *Mahayanasutralamkara* and the two treatises of the *Madhyantavibhaga*, the way of explaining the meaning of the Prajnaparamita Sutra as Madhyamaka, is as asserted by Acharya Dignaga. To this, Tibetans call it 'Vijnaptimatrata false appearance'. Even if they assert 'false appearance', the meaning of Vijnapti does not hold. Even if they consider that to be ultimate wisdom, they do not acknowledge conventional reality as Vijnapti. Distinguishing between mind and mental factors as correct and incorrect conceptualization is the treatise of Lord Maitreya. If wisdom is explained as mind and mental factors, it contradicts the scripture of the *Samgraha Mahayana Sutra*. The distinction between consciousness and wisdom is explained in the *Ratnakuta Sutra* and Asanga's commentary on the *Mahayanasutralamkara* and the *Trimsika-karika*. If it is thought that the fully enlightened Buddha has the activity of mind and mental factors, then how can the transformation of the eight consciousnesses be justified in the *Mahayanasutralamkara* and the Yogacara school's *Samgraha Mahayana Sutra*? If, even after the transformation, they still acknowledge them, then they should acknowledge that the fully enlightened Buddha has the Alaya-vijnana, and the five sense faculties transformed from the elements, and the afflicted mind. Great one, you do not accept the Alaya-vijnana, many people are saying that these days. If there is no Alaya-vijnana, one cannot uphold Asanga's great tradition of the chariot path. Although there is no clear explanation of the ultimate Ekayana in this treatise, it can still accomplish that meaning by describing how an Arhat connects one mind to another with the final mind. If explained in that way, when one enters the Mahayana path from the Arhat with remainder, the previous body, is blessed as the body of faculties, as clearly explained in the scripture of the *Samgraha*. Entering the Mahayana path from the Nirupadhisesa, the treatises of the Yogacara school such as the *Mahayanasutralamkara*, themselves --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
