Excellent! If a practitioner perseveres for a long time, they will directly see the face of Mañjuśrī. In Buddhism, the first to establish the tradition of the Madhyamaka school is named Nāgārjuna. (Nāgārjuna, Sanskrit: नागार्जुन, IAST: Nāgārjuna, literal meaning: Dragon Tree) The first to comment on the scriptures with the Svatantrika view is Bhaviveka. (Bhaviveka, Sanskrit: भविवेक, IAST: Bhaviveka, literal meaning: Good Protection) The first to establish the Prasangika doctrine is the one who upholds the Buddha's intention. The one who eliminates conceptual clinging with gradual reasoning and wisdom is Lodrö Zangpo. In the snowy land of Tibet, the first to establish the Prasangika doctrine is Nyima Drak. The one who equates the view of the intermediate Dharma wheel with the views of Nāgārjuna and Śāntideva is a yogi who practices excellent experiences. The one who equates tantric deities with emptiness is the brave one who is embraced by Āryadeva, who is fearless of everything, and whose name is Aśvaghoṣa. (Aśvaghoṣa, Sanskrit: अश्वघोष, IAST: Aśvaghoṣa, literal meaning: Horse Cry) The dakini who emanated from Nāgārjuna is the one who attained enlightenment and has a name. The Sakya teachings explain the Madhyamaka of non-extremes and union. The one who diligently practices enlightenment solely through non-extremes and non-negation. The incarnate lama who attained the glorious state of union is Yeshe Jungne. The white light of Chandrakirti's good words clarifies the intention of the noble ones. The one who is free from all extremes of existence and non-existence possesses glorious splendor. The teachings of Śākyamuni Buddha are an immortal treasure, complete with both supreme and common qualities. The one who subdues the inferior grounds and the four maras is the victorious and blessed, immovable protector. Avalokiteśvara is the mother of all Buddhas, auspicious and perfect. May it be auspicious! This is an excellent praise of the immeasurable qualities of Atiśa, who is outstanding in compassion for beings. Homage to the Buddha! In the past, for the sake of limitless beings, the power of generating the supreme mind of enlightenment has been accomplished. Now, the venerable one shines like an ornament on the heads of all, I prostrate to you who possess the name Jowo. In terms of ultimate truth, you are Amitābha; (Amitābha, Sanskrit: अमिताभ, IAST: Amitābha, literal meaning: Immeasurable Light) In terms of conventional truth, you are Sadāprarudita. You are a paṇḍita of complete five sciences, manifesting to benefit beings, I prostrate to you. You abandoned the kingdom, renounced and upheld the Vinaya, joining the Mahāsāṃghika school. You became the master of the great monastery, I prostrate to the elder who upholds the Vinaya. You are proficient in the five sciences and vast Dharma, perfecting the pinnacle of the Mahāyāna, liberating yourself and maturing many beings. I prostrate to the perfect spiritual friend. You have mastered all the scriptures to be explained, possessing a learned body; your speech is unimpeded in explaining the treatises; you benefit all beings with great actions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
