Ah! Seeing you dispels arrogance, this is the Saha world (mi mjed zhing, meaning 'world of endurance'). In your pure land, I offer homage! Your voice is like the great drum of the gods, I pride myself on being fortunate, to have received a good share from this Fortunate Aeon (bskal bzang, meaning 'good aeon'). But in reality, it is entirely due to your aspiration, I pay homage to you! Like the ocean, remaining in its own place, Yet eliminating the poverty of a thousand great rivers. In an unwavering state, you manifest hundreds of emanations, I pay homage to your mind that abides in equanimity (mnyam par bzhag, meaning 'meditation')! All virtues are gathered in your heart, No bad qualities can be compared to you. Therefore, nothing can be compared to your heart, I pay homage to this unparalleled heart! If all virtues are gathered in your heart, Then are sentient beings not lacking in the fortune of Dharma? However, without any stinginess, you give equally to all, I pay homage to you! Even though you alone possess all virtues, With great compassion, you enable countless beings, To achieve a state equal to yourself, I pay homage to you, the compassionate master! With a form adorned with excellent marks, increasing the joy of sight, With a Brahma-like voice, bringing the nectar of hearing. Your body, speech, and mind are equal to all beings, I pay homage to these three that are the same as yourself! Manjushri ('jam pa'i dbyangs), as the treasure of the Father's (yab rje) heart, Is the king of freedom, the Victorious One (rgyal ba, meaning 'victor', here referring to the Buddha), the Unconquerable One (ma pham pa). In the center of the ocean-like assembly, shining brightly, May you always come to this place, I pay homage to you! You are a treasure of the wisdom of all Buddhas, Appearing as a body adorned with excellent marks, Striving to eliminate the ignorance of beings in the three realms, I pay homage to Manjushri forever! May I and all mothers, through this merit, Cross the deep ocean of samsara, And majestically, on the golden throne of accumulating two accumulations (referring to the accumulation of merit and the accumulation of wisdom), Attain the state of omniscient wisdom! This praise of the body of Shakyamuni Buddha, called 'Amazing and Wonderful,' was composed by the poet of the central region, the auspicious and excellent Shakya, the stainless and wise (dpal shAkya mchog ldan dri med legs pa'i blo gros). It was completed on the auspicious day of the waxing moon in the black month of the Iron Female Rabbit year (lCags mo yos kyi lo) at the Dechen (bde chen) Monastery in Shang (shangs), may it be auspicious! These are the auspicious verses recited when offering praise to the Great Protector (thub chen). Om (oM, seed syllable, body speech mind), the Lord of Great Bliss (bde chen, meaning 'great bliss'), the Lord of the Dharma Wheel ('khor lo, meaning 'dharma wheel'), Is the Lord of all Families (rigs, meaning 'lineage'), Vajradhara (rdo rje 'dzin, meaning 'Vajra Holder').
