A Collection of Instructions by the Great Scholar Shakya Chokden skc106 A Collection of Praises, including the Praise of Vajradhara Praise to Vajradhara Homage to Vajradhara and other praises Svasti! I prostrate to the path of Vajrayana! Those who are fortunate enough in this life, Can be placed in the state of their own fruition, I prostrate to Vajradhara! He makes manifest that time, that realization, If there is no cause for that to arise, He is the perfect and complete Buddha, Those who admire with faith are not deceived, Whoever is the one who takes care of them is the Lama, Is Vajradhara, from the Buddhas of the past, Without beginning or end, He is the one who has been empowered in succession. His transformation is the five families, Having obtained the complete transformation of each of their positions, In the one and only indivisible Dharmadhatu, He is the truly perfect and complete Buddha. On the fearless lion throne, The pair of feet transformed into a vajra seat, The hands are the union of skillful means and wisdom, Indivisible, that is the first, The Buddha himself empowered him. The one who obtains that is called Vajra, Acharya (Sanskrit: vajrācārya, Diamond Acharya), To that one, I respectfully prostrate! These five aggregates of form, etc., The superiors bless them as the five families, Having purified the five afflictions, At that time, he becomes the sixth Buddha family. All the Buddhas of the ten directions, Request him to sit on the fearless throne, Empower him as the king of Dharma. Born into a royal family, skilled in discernment, Completely possessing all Dharma and politics, Diligent and skilled in the king's throne, Empowerment is like that and not others. What need is there to mention the Buddhas and Buddha-mothers, Saints born from the womb? Generating the mind of enlightenment at the peak of the supreme vehicle, He can also inherit his lineage. Then, in the defiled Dharmadhatu, Having purified the five defilements that obscure it, When one becomes a Vajra disciple, When he gains confidence in the stages of generation, The sixth family, including the fifth, The empowerment of the all-pervading Vajradhara, Empowers him on his own throne. What is said in the Yoga Tantra, The lord of the all-pervading mandala and, Even the all-pervading one of just the generation stage, The sixth Vajradhara is, Believing in this without doubt, He and his path are, Whatever is said, practice diligently, One can realize that fruit in this very body. The stream of empowerment from the superiors, Is also transmitted without interruption, Diligently practicing the stages of completion, He is Vajradhara. I prostrate to the great (Vajradhara)! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Buddhas of the ten directions, the master worthy of empowerment, have the power to accomplish all activities without exception. From such a master of vows, who of this fortunate kalpa has received empowerment, and from whom have the disciples received the lineage, oral instructions, and blessings? May you, who have received such grace, be free from all obscurations and perfect in all qualities, O Bhagavan, Lord of the Wheel! From that one lord of the four bodies, may those who have practiced the four empowerments in the four sessions of day and night, according to tradition, attain the supreme accomplishment, without hindrance or obstruction, just as if taking it with their own hands. To the great Vajradhara who grants the great bliss of the heart, I pray that all common accomplishments may be bestowed as aids to the teachings, and that the river of the teachings of the Buddhas, the source of benefit and happiness, may gather into the wish-fulfilling ocean of the Vajrayana, increasing from above to above. May the disciples who have satisfied their minds with devotion to the master who blesses the four oral transmissions and the four measures, attain all siddhis. May it be auspicious! Homage to Shakyamuni Buddha, a praise in accordance with the teachings, the treasury of immortality. In accordance with the path of liberation, the first eight of the great earth of samsara, the nectar of yoga that thoroughly subdues, was also taught by the ancient sages. You have explained the great gait that can overcome the peak of existence. Even the followers of Brahma have said that attachment and anger are not Dharma. Your doctrine explains that only ignorance is the root of sin. Those who regard something as faulty say that one should be detached from it, as do the offspring of owls. You alone clearly explain that seeing the selflessness of objects destroys the seeds of existence. All non-Buddhist schools of thought say that taking and rejecting is a nihilistic view of samsara and liberation. Your words sweetly proclaim that nirvana is liberation. Others say that wanting to emerge from samsara is renunciation. You say that seeking nirvana is renunciation. Even non-Buddhists want to abandon the seven things to be abandoned by body and speech as moral discipline. You teach individual liberation, beginning with taking refuge in the Three Jewels. Taking refuge in the fully enlightened Buddha is also found in the doctrines of the followers of Vishnu. Taking refuge in nirvana --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
