Ah! The snow mountain of the all-good Avalokiteśvara! Compassionate activities melt like butter into an ocean of nectar. I prostrate to the mind of the self-arisen Tara! Merely holding the name of the Swift and Courageous One, Saves from the fears of lions, elephants, fire, poisonous snakes, Shackles, oceans, and flesh-eating demons. I prostrate to the speech of Tara, who saves! All the activities of all the Buddhas, Avalokiteśvara promised to accomplish. All the remaining activities of Avalokiteśvara, Tara accomplishes, I prostrate to you! The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, All cherish the world with compassion. You alone grant each being their appropriate Merits, I prostrate to you! That which all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas cannot create, You create all activities. This is not because their merits are incomplete, But because you alone fulfill the aspirations. The mirror of the ocean of wisdom, which can manifest the activities of all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Is unattainable by anyone. Therefore, your activities pervade everything. With the force of devotion, invoking the Guru (dpon) as witness, I pray that the sun of the teachings blazes forth! Please swiftly grant accomplishment, I prostrate to you! Those impoverished by desire, merely by your name, if they seek refuge with unwavering faith, please gently hold them with your loving hand, and grant them the benefits they need, I prostrate to you! For those threatened by untimely death and raging epidemics, when they call upon your name, please swiftly gaze upon them with compassionate eyes, and lead them to a place of peace, I prostrate to you! Even as you liberate countless beings in every instant, your deeds transcend all time, but when you wish to equally place all beings, guided by your deeds and freed from weariness, in the peaceful realm of Dharma, You gather the compassion of all Buddhas, manifesting as the hundred-rayed light known as Avalokiteśvara (spyan ras gzigs), in realms of bliss and realms of suffering, your compassionate moon shines alone. You penetrate to the end of existence, tirelessly accomplishing the deeds of all Buddhas, thereafter, all the Teacher Buddhas find rest, and abide upon the throne of the Three Kayas. Avalokiteśvara, a messenger of wisdom and compassion, appearing in a form endowed with wondrous grace, you are the mother of all Buddhas, the master of activity, I seek refuge in you with unwavering faith! May the light of the teachings illuminate all directions, may the holders of the teachings rise eternally like the sun, may the world be liberated from all poverty, and may we be protected from all harm and fear! May we see the Dharma palace of Druzhi (gru 'dzin), may we be born in the pure land of Amitābha ('od dpag med pa), may we be nourished by the nectar of profound vastness, and may we perfect the conduct of the sons of the Buddhas! Thinking of the suffering of beings who were once mothers, in order to achieve the spontaneously perfect enlightened mind for the benefit of others, with pure intention and skillful means, may we swiftly attain the state of Dharma King! May I and those who walk with me on the path of Dharma, the Sangha disciples of like mind, not be swayed by demons and evil friends, and may we be protected from all poverty and fear!
