What I have done is not out of arrogance or a competitive spirit towards others, Nor to destroy the doctrines of the predecessors. But to show the delightful traces of the former masters, And that straight and just path. Without the vast scriptural and logical systems contained herein, Those who claim to lead the doctrine of the venerable superiors Onto the right path with sweet words, Are they not just blind followers? Although there are many children who claim to be proficient in the goodness and badness of views and tenets, Who only speak of old sayings, Who can, like him, Master the treatises of Maitreya and the doctrines of the Six Ornaments without ambiguity? First, he mastered his own doctrine as vast as the ocean, Then, he understood the many essences of other doctrines. He contemplated many times and explained in detail, Worthy of being worshiped at the peak of the victory banner, is the glory of the doctrine. Now, in this era, May the wise men of this land possess wisdom like that of the beginning of the kalpa. In order to pursue the rich feast of discussions, And those who aspire to be wise in the future, If you want to see my good wisdom, Please look at the place of views and the destination of tenets explained here, As well as the scriptures and reasons that prove them, And the beautiful sentences that clearly explain them. Look at this mirror that shows the youth of great wisdom, And this adornment of the face of wisdom. In this ocean of wisdom that shows the qualities and goodness of the wise, The essence of many doctrines naturally appears. This definitive text, quickly written by the hand of extraordinary wisdom, Should be placed in the delightful jewel palace of the Buddha's teachings, On the thrones of many wise lions. Ema! Kye Kye! Friends, this wonderful teaching that opens hundreds of clear Dharma doors is shown in this way: the author of the seven treatises, the garland of reasoning flames burns everywhere, like a towering wall of fire, surrounding without interruption, not only devouring and crushing all the firewood of other doctrines' arrogance, but also with the power of a hundredfold increased doctrine, whoever learns and knows all the authorities of debate will have no opportunity to extend a critical hand. These mountains of four precious definitive meanings firmly occupy the center of this teaching, above, below, inside, and outside, having heard many key points of the tenets, and fully enriched with the wealth of explanation, sharpening wisdom in various rational ways, accompanied by clear expression, with concise language, rich content, beautiful sentences, and pleasant and deeply moving waves, from one delightful wave to another, the outer ocean is fully filled, thereby eliminating the poverty of one's own wisdom.

这部经文如同百川汇聚的法河(Lung chos chos kyi chu bo brgya 'bebs shing),各种宗义的浪潮相互激荡(Rigs gzhung gzhung brgya'i rlabs phreng nyer spel ba),是经教(Bka' lung)和理证(Rigs pa)的海洋。 龙树(Klu sgrub,梵文:Nāgārjuna)以无数的论证方法(Sgrub byed rigs pa bgrang yas kyis)来论证,虽然所要论证的意义只有一个(De bsgrub bsgrub bya'i don de gcig gyur kyang),但驳斥自性(Rang bzhin 'gog pa)的理证,却有无数种(Rnam grangs grangs las 'das pa 'di na mchis)。

Moreover, is there any fear that saliva will rise on the banks of the lotus pond, which is adorned with the beautiful expositions of others? No matter how much one enjoys the wealth of the Dharma, it continues to increase, which is truly wonderful! The conduct of yogis is as vast as the ocean, and the twelve great lands, solid, upright, and just, are beautifully adorned with their boundaries intertwined in all directions. The teachings of Maitreya (Byams pa, the Loving One), the essence of the Victorious One's path, and the complete and virtuous Dharma wealth explained as it is by the venerable Asaṅga (Thogs med, the Unobstructed) and his brother (Vasubandhu), all come together here. Not only that, but for those children who are drowning in the sea of delusion and are slightly lifted by the winds of false discrimination, is there any opportunity to compete? Nāgārjuna's (Klu sgrub) treatises, like the great movements of the sun and moon of the Prāsaṅgika and Svātantrika schools, shine brightly, and the amazing commentaries, like golden mountains, stand tall here. The essence of the profound meaning of both Sutra and Tantra is adorned with the ornaments of inner play, and you, like Mount Meru, are revered as a single volume that gathers the excellent expositions of all the scriptures. Not only are the Tibetan treatises insufficient to compete with you, but even the mountains of hundreds of Indian treatises agree and honor you as the supreme one. How can those who uphold the treatises of the Asuras (Lha min, the non-gods) have the fortune to suppress your position? The melodious speech of Mañjuśrī (Jam dbyangs) and Sarasvati (Dbyangs can), like beautiful music, is like the graceful performance of a dancer. Your mind is held by the treasure of compassion, and Nāgārjuna's (Klu sgrub) reasoning that refutes inherent existence (Sgrub phyogs sel ba), as well as Maitreya's (Byams mgon, the compassionate protector) treasure of compassion for the helpless, and the words of the holy Maitreya (Rnam rgyal rgyal tshab), are all adopted by those who fill their minds with wisdom. Asaṅga's (Thogs med) treatises, which refute nihilism (Med phyogs sel ba), are all treasures of understanding the ultimate meaning (Nges don bzang po). This scripture is like a river of Dharma (Lung chos chos kyi chu bo brgya 'bebs shing) that pours down hundreds of streams, and the waves of various tenets (Rigs gzhung gzhung brgya'i rlabs phreng nyer spel ba) stir each other, it is an ocean of scripture (Bka' lung) and reasoning (Rigs pa). Nāgārjuna (Klu sgrub) uses countless methods of reasoning (Sgrub byed rigs pa bgrang yas kyis) to prove, although the meaning to be proven is only one (De bsgrub bsgrub bya'i don de gcig gyur kyang), but the reasoning that refutes inherent existence (Rang bzhin 'gog pa) is countless (Rnam grangs grangs las 'das pa 'di na mchis). Maitreya's (Byams) teachings, the essence of the Dharma—Madhyamaka (Dbu ma), is also the non-dual (Gnyis med) self-awareness (Rang rig) ultimate truth (Don dam), and all phenomena (Chos kun) are empty of inherent nature (Ngo bo nyid med pa). This scripture explains the way things are (Gang yin yin lugs yin par chos 'dis bshad). You are the eye that sees all the scriptures (Gsung rab kun la lta ba'i mig), what scripture is there that you have not seen? You are the commentary (Ṭīkā) on all the great Madhyamaka (Dbu) and Yogācāra (Sems) treatises. What Mahāyāna (Theg chen) teaching is there that cannot be understood through this treatise? You are the key that opens the hundred doors of Dharma. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
