Therefore, it should be understood as follows. As it is said in the *Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning*: 'The source of all faults is the view of denying emptiness. By what reasoning can existence be refuted? Please listen.' Its commentary says: 'Refuting existence means, O monks, that the undeceiving Dharma, Nirvana, is the only ultimate truth.' 'Liberated from both existence and non-existence, not abiding in any extreme, through the profound and signless dependent origination, one should truly meditate on the meaning of reality.' And so on, extensively explained. The intent of the scriptures thus spoken is that, as an antidote to clinging to non-existence, the conventional truth is taught in the *Abhidharma*; as an antidote to clinging to the conventional truth, the ultimate truth, which is the antidote to self-grasping, is taught in the second turning of the wheel of Dharma; and as an antidote to clinging to the ultimate truth, the freedom from elaboration is taught in the final turning of the wheel of Dharma. Furthermore, as it is said in the *Hundred Verses*: 'To say one exists and one does not exist is neither that nor worldly. Therefore, to say this exists and this does not exist is truly impossible. For one who has no bias towards existence, non-existence, or both, it is impossible to find fault, even after a long time.' It is also said that merely existing nominally does not establish real existence. As it says in the same text: 'If everything worldly exists because of worldly speech, then what real thing could become worldly?' The *Entering the Middle Way* also extensively states: 'If the world is a valid means of knowledge...' Therefore, if it is asserted that the object of investigation is established as truly existent in the established conclusion of having refuted all extremes of elaboration, it does not accord with the general Prasangika Madhyamaka or the specific view of Chandrakirti. This is because establishing freedom from extremes as the reason would make the object of negation a dharma to be established by non-affirming negation, and acknowledging that direct perception realizing it makes the conventional truth the actual object to be measured. One should not think that the Svatantrika does not accept this mode of freedom from extremes. As it says in the *Ornament of the Middle Way*: 'For one who does not accept existence, non-existence, or both, no one can find any fault, even with diligence.' And in its auto-commentary: 'For one in whose system existence, non-existence, or both do not exist, it is impossible to speak of finding fault, even for a long time.' Citing the teachings of the *Lankavatara Sutra*, it explains the principle of neither existence nor non-existence. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In order to explain more clearly. If the ashes thrown by others do not fall on oneself, but fall on the thrower. Second, refuting by means of reasoning 14-4-33b Regarding the statement that it falls on the thrower, it is divided into two parts: stating the view and refuting it. First, in the writings of others, it appears like this: If one says 'The sprout does not exist,' then one has said that it does not exist; if one says 'Non-existence is not non-existence,' then one has said that it exists, which is factually contradictory. Similarly, if one says that it is neither existence nor non-existence, then to say again 'Neither non-existence nor non-non-existence' is factually contradictory. If these are not factual contradictions, because the Prasangika Madhyamaka does not understand the true meaning of two negations. Then, mutually exclusive factual contradictions cannot exist, because one cannot understand non-existence by analyzing existence. If this is not established, then the statement that the Prasangika does not understand the true meaning of two negations is not established. If this is admitted, then the Prasangika's refutation of the Svatantrika by pointing out internal contradictions in their commitments is not established. And so on, many random statements are disparaging former Tibetan scholars. And their own explanation of being free from extremes is: Existence is not the truth, non-existence is not the truth, neither both nor non-both is the truth. If we say this, we will not suffer any loss. They say this. Second, those who say such things appear to be deceiving children. Although it is not worthy of refutation and examination by those with discernment, it is necessary to point out its truth for those who are attached to this view. This is divided into two points: the way of refuting others' views is unreasonable, and the way of establishing one's own view is unreasonable. The way of refuting others' views is unreasonable. First, it is divided into verbal unreasonableness and meaningful unreasonableness. First, even if one verbally says 'The sprout is neither existence nor non-existence,' 14-4-34a and the debater who does not say it is existence or non-existence, as a subject, it should be said that the sprout does not exist, because he said that the sprout is not existence. Similarly, as a subject, it should be said that the sprout exists, because he said that the sprout is not non-existence. If it is thought that the subject is not established, then please point out which debater you are talking about, who has not exhausted the collection of contradictions? Furthermore, any existence or non-existence, as a subject, there is a debater who says that the sprout and the self of a person are not you, and does not say that they are you, because you and not-you are contradictory. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
