By negating 'inherent existence' (nature established), it is not said that pots and so on do not exist. On the basis of it as the 'subject of debate' (subject of debate), there are two natures, conventional and ultimate. Although negated in the cognition of reason, when not analyzed by reason, in the cognition of consciousness, it cannot abandon the nature of merely appearing, which is called 'appearing but without inherent existence', also called 'union of appearance and emptiness', and 'union of the two truths'. Thus, when the two extremes of existence and non-existence are negated, the other two extremes are automatically negated even if they are not specifically negated. Because the previously negated existence and non-existence are mutually exclusive opposites in the cognition of ordinary people. Here, if taking a conventional object such as fire as the referent, saying 'is not existent' means that the conventional nature, such as heat, is not the nature of fire. Saying 'is not non-existent' means that the non-existence as the conventional nature is also not its nature. Similarly, if taking the emptiness of the nature of fire as the referent, saying 'is not existent' means that it is not the ultimate nature that exists, which is ultimately explained by the reason that can destroy all views. Similarly, if saying 'is not non-existent' means that it is not the conventional nature that is non-existent. This is shown by the order of first reversing non-virtue. Or, on the basis of all phenomena, 'not existent in the ultimate truth, not non-existent in the conventional truth', this is shown by the two orders of reversing self-grasping in the middle and ultimately reversing all views. Showing in this way, in meditative equipoise, one can be liberated from all aggregates of elaboration, and in post-meditation, one can realize the union of the two truths. This statement must be strictly distinguished from the statement of some people who say 'pots and so on exist in the conventional truth, and are non-existent in the ultimate truth', because it is easy to confuse due to the influence of the habitual tendencies of conceptual thought. How to apply the terminology of 'knowing' and 'speaking' after negation. Third, the way of applying the terminology of 'knowing' and 'speaking' is divided into two: First, establish the authority of the reasoning that reverses self-grasping. When the authority of the reasoning that reverses self-grasping is first established, at the time of cutting off elaboration in meditative equipoise, one does not accept any characteristics of elaboration, which is the view of Candrakīrti; after negating 'truth', one accepts 'no truth', which is the view of the Svātantrika school. When applying terminology in post-meditation, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although there are two views regarding truly acknowledging the nature and characteristics of the ultimate truth and wanting to refute existence on things like sprouts: wanting to refute and not wanting to refute. However, when refuting existence, both views agree; when refuting non-existence, the two views disagree. Although there are two views on whether refuting existence will become non-existence, if non-existence is refuted, existence must be acknowledged. All sprouts, etc., that are said to be conventionally true are acknowledged as not existing, and there are two views: acknowledging their non-existence and not acknowledging their non-existence. The former is the view of the Svatantrika school, and the latter is the view of the Prasangika school. For this view, it is merely not acknowledging their non-existence, and no reasoning that harms non-existence is explained, so even if their non-existence is not acknowledged, they will not become existent. Furthermore, because it exists conventionally, it cannot be understood as existent; because it does not exist ultimately, it can be understood as not existent. Here, if it exists, it is generally truth, and specifically it is ultimate truth. If it is ultimate truth, then it is universally established as truth. Although being truth universally establishes that it can be analyzed by reasoning, it does not universally establish that it can be examined by reasoning. For example, the Sautrantika school believes that atoms are truly established, but there is no certainty that they acknowledge that they can be examined by reasoning. Therefore, for the knowledge expression that acknowledges ultimate truth and emptiness, etc., it is necessary to acknowledge them without doing any reasoning analysis, because if analyzed, nothing that can be acknowledged can be found. At the time of acknowledgment, something like emptiness is both conventional truth and ultimate truth. But in any case, it is not acknowledged as conventional truth, because it is ultimate truth. Acknowledging emptiness and nirvana, etc., as ultimate truth is only for ordinary beings who have not directly realized the freedom from elaboration and for Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, because here it is assumed that the existence of conventional truth has been refuted, while the existence of ultimate truth has not been refuted. As it is said: 'The world that has not truly seen (the truth) clings to the world and nirvana; those who have truly seen (the truth) do not cling to the world and nirvana.' Secondly, the way to establish with the subsequent wisdom of reversing all views is twofold: from the perspective of convention and from the perspective of ultimate truth. First, from the perspective of convention. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
