It is explained that this becomes impermanent. For example, the ultimate truth of the world is regarded as the valid conventional truth for the noble ones. Furthermore, it is established there in other treatises of the Svātantrika school as well. As it is said in the Madhyamakālaṃkāra along with its commentary: 'Even if the unborn and so forth are understood as the valid conventional, because they are in accordance with the ultimate, this is called the definitive meaning. It is completely liberated from all collections of elaborations. The ultimate is the abandonment of all networks of elaborations. The unborn and so forth are approximated as the ultimate because they are in accordance with entering into it. Without the ladder of valid conventional truths, there is no valid house.' And so forth, it is extensively taught. Third, it is established there by the words of Śāntideva. As it is said in the chapter on wisdom: 'If valid cognition is not valid, then wouldn't what it measures become false? Therefore, meditating on emptiness in that very thing would become unsuitable.' After accepting the former position, the answer to the first fallacy is given, as it is said: 'Without touching the imputed entity, there is no apprehension of its non-existence. Therefore, what is the false entity? It falsely reveals non-existence. For example, in a dream, when a son dies, the conceptualization that he does not exist is an obstacle to the conceptualization that he does exist, and that too is false.' And the meaning of those words is that by the sign of the conventional entities being untrue, that very untruth of the conventional is also said to be false. Thus, in the context of refuting the elaborations of non-truth, emptiness, nirvāṇa, and so forth, which are conventional truths, are said to be deceptive dharmas. However, some later scholars who came to Tibet, who were not impartial in their analysis, say: 'The word 'truth' refers to non-deception, and the ultimate truth is false.' This statement is a great mass of contradictions, because 'false' means deception. Therefore, such truth and falsehood are directly mutually exclusive. If nirvāṇa is false, then it contradicts what is said in the Prasannapadā: 'Whatever is true is a dharma of non-deception, like nirvāṇa.' This is written in letters. There are two answers to this: it does not contradict reason, and it does not contradict scripture. First, presenting such a reason is a place of shame for the presenter himself, because this reason has a subject and a predicate. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because there is no clinging to anything, and it immediately bounces back to the thrower himself, and there is no recognition from others. First, you should show how a great collection of contradictions arises from throwing ashes. For example, Nirvana (藏文:མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པ་) is a dharma, it should be true, because it is true. This is universal, because truth and falsehood are mutually exclusive contradictions. The fundamental reason is established, because it is not deceptive. If you throw it like this, the three realms will become contradictions. There is no other way than to say that. Where did you throw the ashes? It is not applicable to our venerable predecessors, because when they admit that emptiness and so on are not deceptive, they do not admit that they are false. When they admit that it is false, they do not admit the other. For example, in general, the reasoning of Madhyamaka is the reasoning that prevents clinging to reality, and the reasoning that prevents the thoughts of yogis. Relative to the first reasoning, emptiness is regarded as the ultimate truth; relative to the second reasoning, emptiness is also proved to be false. You yourself wrote in the previous part, knowing that there is no recognition, 14-4-23a But throwing ashes is because it originates from a cause that is very poor in reason. So, how does the ash bounce back? You say this: 'In the relative truth, there is no distinction between truth and falsehood, because if it is the relative truth, then it must also be false in name. If this is not established, then it becomes truly established in name. This is universal, because truth and falsehood are mutually exclusive contradictions.' You immediately wrote these words before. Although you wrote like this, what will happen from that? Then, emptiness and nirvana are dharmas, they should be truly established, because they are not false. All three are contradictions. The endless collection of contradictions is it, not the other. Second, what does not contradict the scriptures is that the *Treatise on Distinguishing Merits* says that nirvana is true, which is in the case of preventing relative phenomena such as actions from being true, and proving that untruth itself is true and not deceptive, not in the case of explaining the ultimate freedom from elaboration. For example, in the *Commentary on Entering the Middle Way*, it is like explaining the knowledge of the ultimate truth with three characteristics, and the situation of negating it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
