Furthermore, speaking with a posture of refuting through reasoning, they say: 'Emptiness, as the subject of debate, you must be a deceptive phenomenon, because you are not any non-deceptive phenomenon.' If this lacks pervasiveness, then what exists conventionally and is not established ultimately is pervaded by falsehood. If you accept this, it is directly contradictory. The first sign is real. If it is not deceptive, then it is false, this is written on paper.' Regarding these words, even those who have a slight inclination towards refutation would be extremely ashamed, like this: First, they establish something capable of proving pervasiveness on something that has no pervasiveness at all. Moreover, the pervasiveness being established is acknowledged by the obscurer himself. Throwing out many irrelevant scraps, the final result is, 'If it is not deceptive, then it is false,' apart from this pervasiveness, which does not harm the former opponent and is not acknowledged, all that remains is lamentation. It is like someone using the guise of stopping the moon, reciting three shlokas. Also, like this, after speaking of conventional truth, they also say that the samadhi wisdom of the noble ones who realize emptiness does not exist, which is also a sign of unclear memory.' They also wrote this. Then, you who speak these words, are also unclear in memory, or the great Svatantrika masters like Nagarjuna and others would also become like that, because they also said that the selflessness of persons exists in conventional truth, and then said that the samadhi wisdom of the noble ones who realize that does not exist. Here it is said: 'The footsteps of the former saints are delightful,/ But they want to cover them with their own fabricated false doctrines./ Relying on the red wind of distorting others' words,/ Some dwell in the house of jealous dust./ Although they are good at slandering others and are eloquent,/ Apart from the great desert of others' words,/ When they seek the path of analytical reasoning themselves,/ The display of illusory nature is truly amazing!' The following explains the reasoning that refutes truth in the ultimate truth: Thus, after identifying the object to be refuted, which is the proliferation of non-truth, the reasoning that refutes it is explained, as it is said in the sutra: 'If there is a little non-emptiness,/ Then there will be a little emptiness./ If there is no little non-emptiness,/ Then how can there be emptiness?' And, 'Birth and abiding and destruction,/ Because they are not established, conditioned phenomena do not exist./ Because conditioned phenomena are completely not established,/ Then how can unconditioned phenomena be established?' And, 'If things are not established,/ Then non-things will be established.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It will not change. (If) things transform into something else, people will say that is non-existent.' As stated in the *Hundred Treatises*: 'Not emptiness, non-existence is also not emptiness, from where does it arise, it transforms into that place. How does it become another, non-existence then arises as an antidote.' As stated in the *Two Truths*: 'Because there is no object to be negated, in reality, the un-negated is clear.' And 'If the self-nature of the imputed is negated, how can it become non-imputed?' As stated in the *Chapter on Wisdom*: 'Therefore, what is the false reality? Its non-existence is clearly false.' As stated in the *Ornament of the Middle Way*: 'Because the arising and so on are negated, so non-arising and so on are impossible. For things without an object, applying words of negation, such a combination is not reasonable.' The meaning of these words is: As the subject of debate, worldly phenomena, on your essence, the truly established of conventional truth is negated, but the negated non-truth is also non-existent, because there is no conventional truth to be negated. For example, if there is no son of a barren woman, then his death is also non-existent. And so on. Regarding the meaning of these scriptures, later Tibetan scholars say: 'Using the sign of the pervasive truly established being negated, to negate the truly established emptiness.' This is very wrong, if so, then that reason becomes a reason that has already been established, because the pervasive thing is negated, then the pervasive thing of the vase is also negated. Before negating the truly established emptiness, the principle of the pervasive truly established being universally negated is also not established beforehand, even if the non-truly established of worldly phenomena such as vases is established by reasons such as one and different, but when debating with opponents, these reasons alone cannot universally negate all truly established, therefore it is necessary to use these reasons to negate the truly established emptiness. In short, it should be understood like this: First, with the intellect that cuts off the proliferation of clinging to reality, universally to conventional truth, and particularly to phenomena taken as objects of examination, on them, negate the truly established conventional truth as the object to be negated. Second, when cutting off the proliferation of clinging to non-reality, take the non-reality itself on the worldly as the subject of debate, and on it, negate the truly established ultimate truth as the object to be negated. In this way, on phenomena such as vases, by negating the truly established conventional truth, it is said that phenomena such as vases are non-existent. On it, the truly established ultimate truth is also negated. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
