Oh! Although there is much talk of following the Guhyasamādhi Sūtra (《秘密不可思议经》), the Karuṇāpuṇḍarīka Sūtra (《悲华经》), the Bhadrakalpika Sūtra (《贤劫经》), etc. However, our teacher, the one endowed with great compassion, became enlightened countless inexpressible eons ago, and in this age of strife, in a billion four continents, simultaneously manifested countless wondrous deeds through supreme emanations. Regarding the manner in which the sacred Dharma flourished: After Thubwang (Shakyamuni Buddha) abided in the Dharmadhatu, those with the eye of Dharma successively compiled the teachings. During the third compilation, all the scriptures were written down. The Six Ornaments and Two Supremes, and other commentators, composed many treatises, so that later in India, the Dharma was like the rising sun. In Tibet, the emanation Thonmi Sambhota created the Tibetan script and initiated the tradition of the sacred Dharma. Ka, Chok, and Zhang, who possessed the eye of Dharma, translated all three pitakas, along with their commentaries. The emanation of Manjushri, the great translator Namkha Sangpo, translated the four tantras, along with their qualified commentaries, into Tibetan. Gyalwai Sebo Lodro Sherab proofread many scriptures, causing the Dharma of explanation and practice to flourish and spread in the land of snows. An Ban Rog Dar Sum, Jia Qia Xia Sum, and others, caused the teachings of the Vinaya and Abhidharma, which were transmitted from Ka, Chok, and Zhang, to flourish and not decline. Jowo Rinpoche (Atisha) came to Tibet and, through the two bodhicittas and the bodhisattva pitaka, established the tradition of the Mahayana Kadampa. Kache Panchen came to Tibet and established a monastic community that studied the twelve qualities of discipline. Dampa Rinpoche came to Tibet and, through pure views and various interdependent connections, established a Dharma tradition that benefited many beings. The emanation Padmasambhava came to Tibet, subdued the malevolent forces, and caused the teachings of the unsurpassed secret mantra to flourish. Jetsun Marpa Lotsawa went to India, received the instructions of Nāropa and Maitrīpa, and established the Kagyu tradition in Tibet like a continuous river. The great accomplished Khyungpo Naljor received the profound teachings of the five dakinis and alleviated the poverty of the land of snows. The Sakya lamas, Khon and his nephews, on the sutras and tantras... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

May all the Buddha's teachings flourish, and may many beings be guided to the path of maturation and liberation through worldly means. The Importance of Knowing and Repaying Kindness Third, regarding the history of gratitude: In general, the Buddha is greatly kind to all sentient beings. In particular, the incomparable Shakya King is greatly kind to the beings of this world (Mijed). Especially to the people of Jambudvipa, such as the great founders of lineages like the Six Ornaments and Two Excellents, as well as Tailopa, Naropa, Indrabhuti, and Kalachakra, who appeared in succession as masters of yoga, are all deeply kind. To the people of the snowy land of Tibet, initially the three ancestral dharma kings (Tri-Great Dharma Kings) who were emanations, in the middle the lineage of abbots of Lachen, and finally the omniscient and complete master of the five sciences, Pandit Atisha, along with his dharma lineage, are all deeply kind. Especially to this pure dharma lineage of our own, from the great Sixth Vajradhara, the Lord of Beings with Ten Powers (Shakyamuni), up to our own root gurus, all are deeply kind. In particular, to each of us individually, our parents who give us a healthy body and mind, the Khenpo and Acharya who guide us to pure discipline, the samaya guru who matures us through the four empowerments, the spiritual friend who teaches us what to adopt and abandon without error, the perfect Yongs-dzin (spiritual mentor) who teaches us the scriptures correctly, and all the vajra brothers and sisters who walk the path to liberation together, are all deeply kind. Especially on this occasion today, to the heroes who subdue the pride of others, the wise ones who protect their own with love, the lamas adorned with learning, discipline, and virtue, and under the protection of the esteemed Drungpa Rinpoche, the great ocean where wealth naturally gathers, the garden where the bees of good speech gather, the field for accumulating wealth and merit, and all the assembled masses, may offerings like the ocean gather, may offerings like mountains pile up, may prostrations be as swift as lightning, may devotion grow like the summer sea, may dharma practice increase like the waxing moon, and may the needs and purposes of those present be fulfilled. In short, under the protection of the Three Jewels and Dharma Protectors, may our teachers and students gather like stars around the moon in the mandala of the victorious ones, and may we, blessed with the essence of the three vajras of body, speech, and mind, establish the foundation of the sangha, inseparable from the complete Three Roots. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
