‘མངོན་ཤེས་’ (mngon shes) refers to clairvoyance, and ‘བྱང་ཆུབ་’ (byang chub) refers to perfect Bodhi, as clearly stated in the text itself. The section from ‘ཕྱོགས་བཅུ་དག་གི་’ (phyogs bcu dag gi, of the ten directions) to ‘འགྲོ་དྲུག་སེམས་ཅན་ཐར་བགྱིད་ཤོག’ ('gro drug sems can thar bgyid shog, may the six types of beings be liberated) shows the meaning of the chapter on complete maturation. Thus, by fully presenting the meaning of these ten chapters, the nature of the ‘Mahayana’ (theg pa chen po, Great Vehicle), which is the object of study, is determined. Regarding how to practice these meanings, there are two aspects: ‘view’ (lta ba, view) and ‘conduct’ (spyod pa, conduct). First, the chapters in the text on ‘believing in the Dharma’ (chos mos, believing in Dharma), ‘seeking the Dharma’ (chos 'tshol, seeking Dharma), ‘explaining the Dharma’ (chos bshad, explaining Dharma), and ‘practicing the Dharma’ (chos sgrub, practicing Dharma) clearly indicate that they are about the wisdom of realizing the ‘two selflessnesses’ (bdag med pa gnyis, two selflessnesses). The meaning of these chapters is clearly explained from ‘unborn’ (ma skyes pa, unborn) to ‘realize the Dharma’ (chos rtogs shog, realize the Dharma). The meaning of the ‘skillful means’ (thabs ldan, skillful means) chapter is shown by a single verse ‘clinging to self’ (bdag 'dzin, clinging to self), etc. Furthermore, the meaning of ‘skillful means’ is the complete purification of the actions of body, speech, and mind, and the four means of gathering disciples. This is also clearly stated here. Although generosity is obvious, how are the other three obvious? ‘Pleasant speech’ (snyan par smra ba, pleasant speech) and ‘beneficial conduct’ (don spyod pa, beneficial conduct) are explained by ‘for the benefit of all beings’ (sems can kun la sman slad du, for the benefit of all beings), and ‘consistent action’ (don mthun pa, consistent action) is shown by ‘not abiding in all things’ (dngos po kun la mi gnas par, not abiding in all things). Alternatively, ‘again giving’ (yang na ni sbyin gtong shog, again giving) shows the four types of giving, which are the same as the four means of gathering disciples. Giving is material, pleasant speech is loving, beneficial conduct is Dharma, and consistent action is shown by giving fearlessness. The proof of this is that one abides in the state of fearlessness and saving others from fear is the essence of consistent action. The meaning of the ‘six perfections’ (phyin drug, six perfections) chapter is clearly shown by the six verses ‘things non-things’ (dngos po dngos po ma mchis pas, things non-things), etc. The meaning of the ‘ultimate’ (mthar thug, ultimate) chapter is shown by a single verse ‘all Buddhas’ (sangs rgyas kun gyi, all Buddhas), etc., because the fulfillment of wishes and the attainment of the qualities of ultimate perfect Bodhi converge into one meaning. The meaning of the ‘ten grounds’ (sa bcu, ten grounds) and ‘thirty-seven factors of enlightenment’ (byang phyogs so bdun, thirty-seven factors of enlightenment) chapter is shown by a single verse ‘thus’ (de ltar, thus), etc. Therefore, the subject matter of this aspiration prayer is completely consistent with the structure of the ‘Ornament of the Mahayana Sutras’ (theg pa chen po mdo sde'i rgyan, Ornament of the Mahayana Sutras). This is established. ‘Detailed explanation of the meaning of the text: Maitreya's aspiration’ (byams pas smon lam btab pa, Maitreya's aspiration). The third part is about the meaning of the text, divided into two parts: ‘Maitreya's aspiration’ (byams pas smon lam btab pa, Maitreya's aspiration) and... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is spoken by showing the benefits. First, there are two parts: the actual aspiration and stating the truth to fulfill that aspiration. The first part is further divided into two parts: identifying the aspiration for Bodhisattva conduct, and how to practice that aspiration through the union of view and practice. The first part is divided into three parts: the preliminary refuge, preceding the seven branches, and the main practice of aspiring to attain the state of liberation and omniscience, and finally, placing other sentient beings in both states attained by oneself. Identifying the aspiration for Bodhisattva conduct: the preliminary refuge and preceding the seven branches. First, there are two parts: the preliminary generation of faith, and making the accumulation of the two accumulations meaningful. Preliminary generation of faith: First, there are two parts: taking refuge in the two jewels already accomplished in others' minds, and taking refuge in the two jewels that can arise in one's own mind. The first part is divided into two parts: taking refuge in the Buddha and taking refuge in the Sangha. First is: I prostrate! Here, 'prostration' refers to reverence in body, speech, and mind, and 'prostrate' means to do or perform. Among them, physical reverence is the five-point prostration. That is, the five points touch the ground, or placing the feet of others on one's head. The Vinaya also speaks of the two meanings of prostration. Verbal reverence is praising with the melody of praise. Mental reverence is visualizing that on a single atom, there reside Buddhas and Bodhisattvas equal to the number of atoms, and feeling great joy in this. The way of feeling joy upon seeing the qualities is as stated in the scripture: 'Having compassion for sentient beings,' until 'Cutting off the doubts of sentient beings, I prostrate to you.' While remembering these meanings, one speaks them aloud, and the body touches the ground with five points. By touching the ground in this way, from the limbs that touch the ground, until the basis of the great power of the earth, the number of atoms that exist, that many times taking birth as a Chakravartin king is the distinction of the fully ripened result; ultimately attaining the state of the object of prostration is the separated result; and others also rejoicing in the qualities attained by oneself is the result of the same cause. Second, to whom should it be done? It is to all, that is, those who abide in the ten directions and are distinguished by having come in the three times. What is that? It is the Buddha. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
