(It contradicts the ground.) Refuting the wrong view that holds the Sambhogakaya and Akanistha of all Buddhas to be one and the same. Second, refuting the wrong view that does not consider Akanistha and Sambhogakaya to be one and the same: Most scholars of both ancient and later Tibet unanimously say that the Sambhogakayas of the Buddhas, such as the thousand Buddhas of the Fortunate Aeon, attained by different streams of consciousness at different stages of the path of learning, must be distinct from each other. However, regarding their abode, Akanistha, there seems to be no analysis of whether it is one or many, but offerings are made based on the view that it is one. This is unreasonable in two ways: it is unreasonable to posit many Sambhogakayas in one Akanistha, and it is unreasonable to accept both the support and the supported as many. The first point is: there is no scriptural basis for such an explanation. If one considers the single Akanistha Ghanavyuha realm to be the realm of many Sambhogakayas of different entities, then it would be too far-reaching, like the three thousand great thousand worlds, which, although being a single realm, have many different Nirmanakayas simultaneously dwelling and propagating the Dharma. The second point is: if a new Akanistha arises when a sentient being newly attains Buddhahood, then a world with the characteristics mentioned above, adorned with essence and flowers, must newly arise. Because the establishment of an Akanistha that does not possess these characteristics is not mentioned in the sutras and tantras. If that were the case, then when a sentient being newly attains Buddhahood, an unprecedented 7-1-13a new Buddha-field would arise, and so many unprecedented sentient beings would have to be newly born, which is too far-fetched. Therefore, my own pure system is this: among the Trikaya of all Buddhas, all Dharmakayas merge into one. That merged Dharmakaya is able to manifest only one Sambhogakaya. As it is said in the Ornament for the Mahayana Sutras: 'Rivers not entering the ocean, places are different, water is different, the amount of water is small, actions are different, living beings in the water use little. Entering the ocean, then everything, places become one, the amount of water is large and one, actions are one, living beings in the water constantly use much. Those who have not entered the Buddha-state, supports are different, wisdom is different, thoughts are narrow, their own actions are different.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moreover, they are always diligently engaged in benefiting sentient beings. Once they enter the state of Buddhahood, all of these (Buddhas) have the same basis, their realization is great and the same, their activities merge into one, and they constantly engage in the great practice of benefiting vast assemblies of sentient beings. As it is clearly stated, 'the same basis' refers to nothing other than the same basis of the Sambhogakaya (enjoyment body). Furthermore, it says in the same text: 'Just as the rays of the sun's orb, countless rays intermingle, constantly engage in the same activity, and illuminate the world. Similarly, in the realm of immaculate space, countless Buddhas intermingle.' This passage should be explained as the merging of the Dharmakaya (truth body), and the merged Dharmakaya must rely on the same basis, the Sambhogakaya. One might wonder if the Nirmanakaya (emanation body) is also unique, since multiple wisdom bodies can enter into one Nirmanakaya basis. It should be explained that they are not the same. As it says in the same text: 'Because of different lineages, because of meaningfulness, because of completeness, because of beginninglessness, Buddhas are not one, nor are they the state of stainlessness; because they are not different, they are not many.' And, 'In the realm of immaculate space, Buddhas, like the sky, have no body; because they follow the traces of past actions, they are neither one nor many.' From these statements, it must be explained that the Nirmanakayas of all Buddhas are not one, because the realm tamed by one Nirmanakaya is not necessarily tamed by another. Thus, the Nirmanakayas of the Buddhas each hold the world of sentient beings and the world of containers separately and distinctly. On the other hand, (the Nirmanakaya) is not the same as (the Sambhogakaya), because wherever the activity of one Buddha's great Sambhogakaya extends, the Sambhogakaya of others also extends there. The proof of this is that it must be explained as possessing the five certainties, and it is impossible for a great Sambhogakaya that is not within the scope of a tenth-level Bodhisattva to exist. Even so, the noble Avalokiteshvara (世間自在), the embodiment of the compassion of all Buddhas, must be placed as the Nirmanakaya of a Buddha in Sukhavati (極樂世界), as the regent of the victorious Amitabha (無量光). Again, one might think that since the great Sambhogakaya of all Buddhas is definitely the same, then, like the Sambhogakaya realm of Amitabha being said to be in the direction above, and furthermore, the mandalas and retinues of Vajradhatu (金剛界) and Kalachakra (時輪金剛) and so on, have different distinctions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
