It is unreasonable to assert that the Akaniṣṭha (Sanskrit: Akaniṣṭha, literally meaning 'not the smallest') which is located on earth is not definitive. Firstly, there is no contradiction in considering such a place as the definitive Akaniṣṭha, as it fully possesses the twenty-four qualities of the definitive. However, it is unreasonable to consider these as the Akaniṣṭha of location, as they do not possess any of its characteristics. Furthermore, this contradicts the statements in tantras such as the Guhyasamāja Tantra, which state that the structures of Akaniṣṭha and Jambudvīpa (one of the four continents, the earth we live on) are distinct. Therefore, according to the views of the Kriyā and Yoga Tantras, when a yogi of Jambudvīpa attains Buddhahood in one lifetime, whether one believes that the ultimate Dharmakāya is manifested on the basis of the physical body or not, the Saṃbhogakāya (enjoyment body) must be manifested only in the Akaniṣṭha. This is because, according to the Yoga Tantra, one must attain Buddhahood there through five kinds of manifestation; and according to the Yoga Mother Tantra, one must manifest the seven-limbed Saṃbhogakāya only in that place. As the teacher Vāgīśvarakīrti said: 'The enjoyment body and union, great bliss are without inherent existence, pervading entirely with compassion, constant without cessation, this which possesses the seven limbs, that which should be accomplished, I desire, praised even by those with minds fully accustomed to valid cognition.' Among these, the sixth limb, 'union constant without cessation,' must be explained as the Saṃbhogakāya possessing the five certainties. If it were not so, and the seven-limbed Saṃbhogakāya could be manifested in Jambudvīpa itself, then there would be no reason to arise as the non-learning Yuganaddha (union) from the clear light. Furthermore, although the illusory body at the time of attaining Buddhahood on the basis of the physical body of Jambudvīpa is a Buddha body with the characteristics of a Buddha, generally it is not the Yuganaddha, and especially not the seven-limbed Saṃbhogakāya, but should be established as the Nirmāṇakāya (emanation body). Secondly, if the place called 'Akaniṣṭha Dense Array' is not definitive, then all the establishments that the complete Saṃbhogakāya resides only in Akaniṣṭha, and that the retinue is definitely surrounded only by noble Bodhisattvas, and that it does not appear directly to ordinary beings and Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, etc., will be disrupted, and one would have to admit that the basis of the world formed by karma and afflictions is the same as the Akaniṣṭha Dense Array, which would lead to many faults that contradict reason, and would contradict the tantric quotations cited above.
