Self-nature manifests as enlightenment. The power of realizing emptiness arises as the essence of compassion, effortlessly and naturally gathering all aspects of skillful means and wisdom. Therefore, it is bodhicitta. Possessing the qualities of the three vehicles that guide all arising, fully endowed. The asceticism and purity of the Kriya Tantra are to please the deities. The recitation and samadhi of the Upaya Tantra are to accomplish siddhis. In the Yoga Tantra, the blessing of the formless realm, the yoga of shamatha and vipashyana that views the great mandala of the Vajradhatu. The essence of the siddhis of all the qualities and functions of the ascetic vidyadhara vehicle is perfected in this single, inexpressible, co-emergent realm of one's own mind. All the teachings of the Father Tantra Mahayoga are pure from the beginning in the Dharmakaya, which is the indivisible essence of the seven noble riches or the two truths. And the son of the union of the two mandalas of spontaneous wisdom and suchness of the Anuyoga, in the mandala of great bliss bodhicitta, the meaning of the great perfection of equality of samsara and nirvana is perfected. In the self-nature great perfection, in the single realm of luminosity beyond limit and center, the appearance of the spontaneously accomplished jewel of the ground, all that arises naturally without limitation or bias, like gold and its luster, is not a separate Dharmakaya, the great liberation of unchanging awareness, all at once gathered in the meaning of the ground-essence Tathagatagarbha. These separately taught teachings are taught only to gradually guide sentient beings. Again, when meeting the vidyadhara king Shri Singha, (the disciple asked:) "Venerable teacher, please show me the path of the Great Perfection." (Shri Singha) replied: "The Great Perfection is the great common ground of samsara and nirvana, the great realm in which the three paths of samsara and nirvana are perfected. Knowing its state and reason is the view. Gaining freedom in the original ground, self-awakening and expanding on oneself, is meditation without attachment. This is like a drop of water merging into the ocean, unchangeably becoming the ocean, or the sky in a vase with the outside.

Just as when space merges with space, space becomes boundless without needing any modification. The ground and mind are without inner or outer distinctions, yet due to self-grasping, they are divided into inner and outer, and that is all. Like water that is naturally free but is bound by the cold's kinship into ice, the ground is naturally free, but the entirety of samsara is formed by the single bond of self-grasping. Knowing this state, one should abandon the activities of good, bad, and neutral through the door of the body, remaining like a corpse in a charnel ground, doing nothing. Similarly, one should abandon the three activities of speech, remaining like a mute. And one should abandon the three activities of mind, remaining without modification, like being free from the three causes of addition, subtraction, and distortion. This is called "equal abiding." Abandoning the nine activities is called "abandoning activities," and not modifying with the mind is called "beyond mind." In the state of that very key point, one will gain great self-confidence. Furthermore, at all times, whether walking, sitting, moving, speaking, thinking, or acting, one should not lose the stance of viewing appearances as illusory, and one should realize the nature as it manifests, without losing the conviction of meditation. One should not let behavior become unrestrained, but should maintain the four postures of conduct properly. This key point must be relied upon until the end of life. This is the self-liberation of meditation, beyond mind. Since all key points of conduct are emptiness, one should not think that no matter how one acts, there is no fault, and thus become lax in behavior. One should abandon non-virtuous actions of body and speech like poison, and maintain peace, gentleness, and mindfulness, like approaching the presence of a righteous king. Moreover, if one clings to virtuous actions of body, speech, and mind, considering them to be profound, and thereby suppresses the view and meditation, spending one's life merely accumulating merit in samsara, it is like being bound by golden chains. Therefore, in terms of conduct, one should not abandon the view, but should be like a lion standing proudly on a snowy mountain, unconquerable by any beast. In particular, if one follows those who say that even if one realizes emptiness, one still needs to cultivate compassion from elsewhere, it is like saying that water has moisture within itself, but one needs to seek moisture from elsewhere; fire has heat within itself, but one needs to seek heat from elsewhere; wind is coolness itself, but one needs to say that coolness must come from elsewhere. This is a fallacy.
